Such as a couple were injuries - like the broken nose against Rees.
And he is not as fragile since he moved up from featherweight limits to full lightweight. Yes we saw him up and down against Choi (a very decent operator) and that might have given plenty an opinion of his resistance, but I think his resilience has been a lot better of late.
I think he was campaigning too long at a weight class he couldn't sustain himself at properly - and has now grown into a decent sized lightweight who can hang with most and shock the odd fighter along the way too.
Khan and Enzo are chinny, you see their legs wobble and the eyes goes round in their head when hit - not Derry, he seems fully aware when he's hurt - and credit to him, he often pulls himself back up !
The Rees broken nose was Technical Draw
Not fair to say Derry has no chin , not making excuses for him but I fully agree were you say look at the fights themselfs rather than just the number of stoppages on his record
He got off the floor 4 times before finally being stopped by Choi, I know Lindsay isnt a massive puncher but it was an almight swing and shot that caught him and he was very drained at 9 stone
he was stopped on his feet by Marsili and was very unlucky in the ramogadi fight as it was a bad decison to stop the fight,
id say the one stoppage that puts questions on his chin was the scott lawton one but derry did avenge that loss and took a lot of shots of Lawton in the rematch that didnt seem to bother him so maybe the first fight being at SFW rather than LW was a factor
I think this one comes down to levels and i believe derry will not only have too much expirience but also too much skill for Tommy at this level and he will be pulled out mid to late rounds
