British boxer made his professional début at the oldest age?

Post by DynamoDegsy »

Would anyone know which British boxer made his professional début at the oldest age, and what age was it at? A couple of non-British mature débutant boxers are Dewey Bozella, and Dexter Dunworth who were both 52. Best Regards

I'll throw the first name into the hat. Matt Skelton W 28 (KO 23) - L 8 (KO 4) - D 0 was 35 when he made his pro début.

Edit: Stu you bugger.

I raise you undefeated Louis Cuddy. Who was 36 when he made his debut.

Stephen Reynolds - 5 time Irish champion jumped the fence at 39!

p.s. we'd take the fight with Cuddy - even in Liverpool - at the drop of a titfer!

Any advance on 39? We're some way short of the 52-year old American (Dewey Bozella), and Australian (Dexter Dunworth) :verysad:

BoxRec doesn't have a birth date for Damien Campbell, but FreeBMD's only birth for a Damien Campbell was registered during April→June 1968 in Liverpool, which if it is the same Damien Campbell would make him 42 when he fought Lee Swaby.
