I have feeling if would have stayed with his previous promoter he probably be WBO champ right about now.
I think getting a fight with either Pacman or Bradley, let alone winning, would have been some achievement.

Anyone know whether the rumours of the Jones fight being made above the welter limit are true? (It was on Eastside).

Yeah but what is Water running even?! Haha. Trying to run in a swimming pool or something?!
Yeah you wrap like a float around your chest and it keeps you upright in the water and you can then do a running motion provided the water is deep enough. I went to a school with a guy who ran the 10,000m at the Sydney Olympics and he used to do this when he was coming back from injuries because it is zero impact but gives you a bit of a workout.

Why you obsessed with ducking conspiracy theories!!!! Do you think Kell was that desperate to miss the titleshot and BIG payday he's been working towards for his whole career that he's been breaking his own bones to get out of it???

After Broner's performance against Malignaggi, compared with those of Khan and Hatton, Broner begins to look like a good target for anyone, and he'd bring a lot of kudos.

He is looking at a different route doesn't mean he'll take it and that is because Alexander v Khan is in December and they have a mandatory, but one of them may fight Mayweather in like April next year which leaves Kell where? That is my conspiracy theory.

Drug use doesn't make people thick, you been reading the Daily Mail again? You alcohol, nicotine and caffeine free are you? What about paracetemol, penicillin, antihistamines etc.?

Trust me, if I was starting threads as retarded as this one then I'd be taking a long hard look at myself.

Ps I never claimed Brook had faked the injuries he has, just that he's now talking about going down another route which looks suspicious. He hasnt fought a top level opponent yet. For instance why did he have to fight Jones for his come back fight? He's not coming back from a loss and needing to be built up again, so why cant he fight a better opponent?

The truth of the matter is Brook is 29-0 and hasnt fought one truely top tier opponent. Khan is 28-3 and has fought the likes of Garcia, Peterson, Maidana, Judah, Kotelnik and co. There's no comparison and I dont even like Khan!

My last post on the matter, why is it suspicious that he's going down another route when Devon clearly has numerous other more lucrative options, is Kell supposed to sit around and wait for Devon??? This fight would've happened already if wasn't for the bad luck of injuries they've both had, the notion that Kell has somehow Ducked Alexander is just plain idiotic (this is an ESB thread)

I didn't think I'd have to explain the differences between Kells and Amirs career, but Amir turned pro as a household name at 17 with an Olympic silver medal in his pocket and he was selling numerous tickets straight from the off, which obviously opens more doors. People were saying the same thing (as you're saying about Kell) about Carl Froch a few years ago.

Carson Jones isn't a bad opponent, unfortunately fighters without BIG backing (i.e. Kell) don't get to have their pick of fights, else I'm sure Kell would love to be fighting Mayweather, Manny, Broner, Bradley, JMM et al.

Well seeing as you're using Froch as an example. He's also a guy that didnt have a big build up and yet has fought a far higher level of comp than Brook has! Let's see if Brook fights the same number of elite level fights as Carl has.

That's a considered post and there're some very good points and Khan worked his arse off to get the Olympic silver at such an age - he did fantastic and it was his hard work and self belief that got him the big promotional packet - there was something to sell! Froch was another high level amateur, very high class and noticed by all the top promoters/managers and trainers - again he worked his arse off and got himself into that position. Kell, to be honest, didn't. He was decent level, became the best in his home gym and got better sparring Witter. He is a very good boxer with serious power and comes across very well but has done it very safe compared to Khan or Froch.

Jones is a good opponent; one Brook barely beat 12 months ago and one that Dean Byrne drew with afterward. On how Devon dealt with Purdy he would be a very hard fight for any British welter. I'm sure that Brook would love to be against the big names but he has to put together a run of wins against high level international names first.

Im still not buying into this argument of Brook didnt have the same backing and so on. Brook was signed to FW who was the most promoter in the country at the time. It was hardly like he was being promoted by some small time promoter who had no tv deal, etc! Yes Froch was a high class amateur but if anything he had a less powerful promoter in Hennessy backing him! That's also probably a big part of the reason he entered the super six in the first place as he didnt have many options! Brook also got offered a fight with Mike Jones who was also unbeaten at the time and him or his dad turned the fight down! Also since he's been with Hearn he got offered a shot at Bradley and that got turned down! There's a pattern there. Regarding Jones being a good fighter. He's semi decent but he's not a top level welterweight. By all accounts he's spent a lot of time as a sparring partner for other fighters and I remember seeing Alexander saying that. You shouldnt be drawing with Dean Byrne with all due respect if you're a top level welterweight. Byrne wasnt/ isnt even a natural welterweight as it is!

Jones is a legit fight, he got injured legit-ly and if he went another route you would only end up seeing him fight somebody better than Alexander anyway! What's the beef?

brook did win the elim so he's not going to put together a series of big wins. i think he needs the IBF title shot getting back on track - perhaps another elimination contest, vs someone tough, of the calibre of, say, mike jones or jesus soto karass, tough fights likely to go 12 rds and show us if brook has the engine and the stomach for this (he didn't look happy at all vs carson jones, a tremendous fight).

My beef is purely the level of opposition mate. I dont understand why he couldnt choose to fight the likes of Ortiz, Berto, Guerrero, Maidana and guys of that calibre. Even if he doesnt fight Alexander at the moment, id be happy with any of those fights. There's also been talk now that if he beats Jones, he's looking to fight Mosley in september! Mosley is 42 now i think? He's shot!

Thanks.

It'll be a tragedy if Kell doesn't get a title fight. I'm happy to see a rematch with Jones because it was such a good fight but it feels like Kell has been in limbo since then...
