I was on twitter earlier today and Dave was doing a twitter Q&A and one of the questions was do you think Kell is ready for the elite in the division and he said no! I was surprised knowing his links with the Ingle gym!

I think Coldwell is one of the most intelligent minds in the sport. Plus, he tells it like it is.

No way is Dave slagging Kell he would have meant he needs time to recoup after his injury.
or if were being cynical he maybe trying to give Kell a kick up the arse.
Which coming from a man he respects may work if needed.
Sorry columbo but they are great friends who look out for each other your reading too much in to it.

He also said Khan would outbox him and that Kell would win if he could chin him. He said ask me after he fights Jones again.

It was interesting on Ringside earlier today. Adam Smith turned to Johnny and asked "Has Kell Brook done everything right?" in reference to the latest training camp ahead of facing Carson Jones again. Johnny quickly replied "He's gotta, if he hasn't it's over, the show is over for him".

Doesn't sound like team SKY are brimming with confidence.

...I don't think Brook will ever be elite but could be a world title holder. Maybe DC was just...being honest.

Hi all,
Not sure what the point in this thread is?
I was asked if Kell's ready for the elite YET..

I don't think he is. He's been out a while, hasn't fought a top world level opponent yet, so no, I don't think he's ready for the elite yet.

There's a huge difference between Carson Jones and the elite.
Nothing sinister, just think there's fights to be won before we talk elite level opponents.

F*ck me. Columbo starts negative Kell Brook thread. Shock of the week.

Let Dave think what he wants. Doesn't change owt - When Kell fights an elite opponent, we will find out whether he is or be isn't. That's the real test, not Dave Coldwells opinion.

I think this is the chance after the first fight and the injuries for kell to prove his credentials. We know Carson jones is a tough opponent not the most skilled and defiantly not elite level. I think he needs to show everyone how he has progressed. I think kell has the potential but whether he is good enough is a different thing

I was only replying to what I was asked.

I think kell could end up world champion no doubt, but just think he needs this and maybe another fight first.

Nothing against anything you said mate. I just have something against people starting disingenuous threads. People with agendas Dave, that's why this thread was started

Well it wasnt starting another negative thread actually mate. I saw what Dave had tweeted and was surprised, that's all mate. Especially with him having such close links with Brook and the Ingle gym.

I think most of fans of Kell would answer the question Dave was asked in the same way.
Khan is lightning quick in and out and could probably out box most 140_147 fighters.
BUT he has china chops and Kell can time and punish .Basically all Kell has to do is land sweetly on Khans button and its na nights . Khan has to overcome himself and Kell to win the fight .But with all the needle and a roaring British crowd he will get game and then KO'd.
As for being ready for the elite of course he needs a tune up or two .
If the question was before the injuries and time out the ring was Kell ready to dip his toe in at elite level the answer may have been different.
Though you would have to ask d.

You can put spin on anything columbo we will know more about how Kells performing July 13th.

The Don,
I think that Dave is more than capable of responding (as he has done) wthout anyone else having to comment.
Bottom line is everyone will get their answer after the Jones fight and as soon as Ezekiel gets in the ring for a World Title tilt.
Totaly chilled totally relaxed. He will win.

I got boxing news today and think I can remember reading that the Brook v Jones rematch is set at above Welterweight; is there any reason for this?
