Will Lennox Succeed As A Top Trainer?
Lennox has been training price for his rematch against Thompson... and has said that he would like to pass on his experience and the knowledge that was passed on to him by Manny....
The proof is in the pudding and Lennox has only just started in this new adventure....Personally i would actively support this career move.... as it is good to see him back and the relationship he had with manny he would have a lot to give any level of boxer...

Obviously has lots to offer as experience goes ! Very cool and calm, hope it works
Re: Will Lennox Succeed As A Top Trainer?
He was a thinker and a learner, and he continued to learn throughout his career. I would think that makes him the right type, but communicating that is not the same thing. I hope he does.
Re: Will Lennox Succeed As A Top Trainer?
Depends if he wants to live the life of a trainer when he already has all that dough in the bank.

As some on here will tell you ..
Being a trainer is at times a thankless task , giving away hours on end of your own time for what can seem like is for nothing sometimes , Theres not really descent money involved , its something a trainer does because they love it , and without that love for it most wouldnt bother .
Its not for everyone , thats for sure .

Why was he standing in the orthadox stance on the pads with David when he's fighting a southpaw?

He might have well over £100m in the bank but he very clearly loves the game and wants to be involved. I'd like to think he'll become Price's main trainer eventually.

And if Price falls flat on his face will he avenge David and take on Tony Thompson?
Re: Will Lennox Succeed As A Top Trainer?
Is it? More like trying to pick holes. U pickin holes in Lennox Lewis an I'm a clown u retard!billy nelson wrote:What do you mean give over its a very valid point you clownBandit wrote:Give over he's forgot more than u know!billy nelson wrote:Why was he standing in the orthadox stance on the pads with David when he's fighting a southpaw?

It's a fair question bandit; being a top fighter doesn't always mean that they'll be a top trainer and being very intelligent doesn't either; Price got knocked cold by Thompson and ought to be looking to defend shots that Thompson is known to throw. Though Lennox was a fantastic boxer he is a novice trainer with no track record; Billy knows more as a trainer than Lennox IMO and it was a legitimate question.

Thank you, how could I try and knock Lewis but when it's wrong it's wrongpalooka wrote:It's a fair question bandit; being a top fighter doesn't always mean that they'll be a top trainer and being very intelligent doesn't either; Price got knocked cold by Thompson and ought to be looking to defend shots that Thompson is known to throw. A very valid point Billy and well observed, sometimes not seeing the woods for the trees and overlooking the small details can cost a boxer the fight.billy nelson wrote:Why was he standing in the orthadox stance on the pads with David when he's fighting a southpaw?
Billy Graham I recall was also guilty of the same mistake,Hatton went through a phase of fighting southpaws and Graham was often seen standing orthodox with his body bag on during pad sessions.
Lennox may know more about boxing from a fighters perspective but as for training a fighter its whole new ball game of which Lennox hasnt played the game to my knowledge.
I predict with or without Lewis,Price will get chinned, unless he keeps Thompson on the end of his jab all night.

Couldnt agree more that not every great fighter makes a good trainer but i do hope that the time he spent with manny some of that talent managed to rub on to lewis... i have a feeling he might do okpalooka wrote: being a top fighter doesn't always mean that they'll be a top trainer and being very intelligent doesn't either; Price got knocked cold by Thompson and ought to be looking to defend shots that Thompson is known to throw. I predicted Price would lose the first fight however David has a very good coach in Franny along with the words of wisdom from Lennox, David will be much better prepared mentally this time and won't think he can just steamroll people. I think he will stop Thompson mid fight this time, most importantly he learns from the mistakes of his last fight.
Good Luck David Price

David has always had a bit of suspect chin even in his amateur days... so it wouldnt be long before someone found it... (even though it was near enough the same area of the neck as Khan) but lets hope he took a leaf out of vlad and protects his vulnerability a bit better than he did in the first fight... I personally think price will think more about movement so he doesnt stay in the pocket to long...
Re: Will Lennox Succeed As A Top Trainer?
I agree Billy. Ive seen other trainers doing that aswell! How can you something so simple but yet serious wrong like that?!billy nelson wrote:What do you mean give over its a very valid point you clownBandit wrote:Give over he's forgot more than u know!billy nelson wrote:Why was he standing in the orthadox stance on the pads with David when he's fighting a southpaw?
Re: Will Lennox Succeed As A Top Trainer?
People are saying Lennox will be great basically because he was a great fighter! Did anyone ever used to listen to his HBO commentary?! He was pretty shit to be honest and half the time he didnt seem to know what he was talking about. He was also very dull to listen to. Thats pretty much why HBO got rid of him!
Re: Will Lennox Succeed As A Top Trainer?
Lennox has a lot of knowledge, he used to bore me senseless over the years. haha

Yeah i tend to agree he lacks a bit of charisma... some people just dont like the talking on radio or tele he might be ok on a one to one basis... but time will tell...
