Boxings biggest idiots

Post by ALI »

There's a lot of them out there: from plain stupid, to greedy, corrupt, delusional, egotistical, phsycopathic, pathological, love to showboat or just a few pence short of a pound, boxing really does has its fair share of plonkers.

Jose Sulaiman and Oscar De La Hoya are two real twats that i never place any value on a single word that ever leaves their mouths. Tyson Fury is a few fries short of a happy meal but bless the man, he's entertaining in a strange sort of way. Adrien Broner is fast becomming the biggest bell end to have laced a pair of gloves, and Amir Khan still thinks he's got the style to beat Mayweather.

They come in many different guises, i've not even scraped the surface. What others out there are worth a mention?

Wait a minute, the topic was "biggest idiots"-Garcia, if he can worm his way around the Matthysse bout might be a bellend but he's also a pretty smart one. Only an idiot would willingly get in the ring with that monster!

Bradley a ducker? Hmm....guy who's been in with Holt, Peterson, Alexander, Pacquiao and Provodnikov....

To be fair, no one expected Provodnikov to be a difficult fight. Just because he boxed so badly, hardly makes it brave matchmaking

The thread title sounds like one of those 54 minute rip-off clips DVDs for the Xmas market. Presented by Danny Dyer.

Ok i cant really put bradley in the same as garcia he has fought bigger names but bradley is an unpopular bellend and he did duck khan.... It doesnt take much brains though to know mathyesse will crush almost anyone... But it was the bravado Garcia was giving out at the Peterson v Mathyesse fight ... That gives more ammunition for him to stay in the bellend category....

Suppose it depends what you mean by idiot.
A bit stupid or a bit of a w@nk3r
if it's the first i'm going to throw one in here that might seem a bit random
Scott quigg always strikes me as being a bit slow. Kind of like one of those guys that fought on 8 fights longer than they should have and allowed his head to be used as a punch bag at the end of his career. And he's still in his early twenties.
That maybe seems harsh as he seems a nice enough kid and I like watching him fight, but he doesn't strike me as being particularly bright.

He's very intelligent in my opinion, just has what I think is a mild speech impediment. I believe this may affect his confidence and composure during interviews, especially on tv.

he's not far off having the tools. If he had a iron chin he'd have a fantastic shot at a UD over fighters like Floyd and Bradley.

Must admit it's been a long, long time since I've ever wanted to see a fighter get a proper beatdown but I do want to see someone put it on Broner - a long, prolonged drubbing followed by a KO would somehow strike me as natural justice at work... no wish for him to suffer long-term damage, but just force some humility on him...

And to be fair he doesn't need an iron chin to get through 1 rounds with those 2; if he managed Maidana then he may squeek through.

I didn't think I'd say it as I really admired him as a boxer and how he conducted himself but Kostya Tzsyu went down in my estimation the other week by not pulling Lebedev out of the bout; the man was in hospital for 5 days with the damage I read. Winning a bout can't be worth that, Dennis may not be the same again.

Agreed, but he does'nt have an iron chin, does he.

By the same token, if Malagnagi had Liston's left hook...............

It does'nt work like that i'm afraid.
