Kahn ducked thaxton for the british.....said he was above him then went on to fight lawson who had just been ko by thaxton! He also avoided the euro route due to another big puncher called ramanov.....in fact the 1st big puncher he fough who was not moving up a weight was prescott. We all remember how that went. He was protected and a ducker. What wound me up was him slagging thaxton off saying he was well below him then fighting guys who were not a patch on thaxton

That wound me up at the time as well but it was a while ago now and there can be no serious question as to Khans bottle; when he's been levelled he's done his best to get up and back in; Khan is a very good boxer, very close to the top of a very good division.
Khan's antics with Thaxton and Romanov, what he said about them and who he opted to fight instead left a long lingering bad taste in the mouth. The Prescott result seemed to validate his steering around them.
He's been nursed along since, and he certainly has a couple of good results, but he's really not top class. I can't remember a fighter in modern times who so many people have tried for so long to carry and milk.
I agree; when Amir boxes he does put on a show, some of the stuff he puts out in public puts people off - his team ought t have learnt by now.
