Contender series, that could happen over multiple weights

Post by Hounddawg »

It's starting to annoy me seeing so many divisions stacked with ranked fighters, undefeated fighters and great match ups that are never happening here in Australasia. So it got me thinking how it could happen, while be worth while to fighters and exposure to the sport, given what it did for Sakio in the states, and little known Garth wood here.

Newzealand and Oceania included in the events as well.

Super feather contender series. Will Tomlinson Ibo belt with maybe big cash fight for the winner.

Contestants:
Paul Fleming
Matt Garlett
Jack Asis
Bilel Dibb
Brent Elliot
Corey mcConnel
and a few up and comers. Much like a guy like Garth Wood who at 4,1,0 end up winning and stopping Mundine the prize.

I will come up with a Middle, more than likely not, given Geales rise, but there's enough talent for some of these guys to build upon their ranking and profiles with a show like this and make for 1 of his non mandortories.

Cruiser list to come and big money to fight Greeny on a ppv event.

Really want to know thoughts, remember wood & bika, and how it put them out there.

Its a great way to get fighters out there, i'm all for it, loved all the contender series.

A cruiser weight series would have been awesome with the winner fighting Green.

Contestants:
Brad Pitt
Adam Forsyth
Vaitele Soi
David Aloua
Daniel Amann
Oscar Siale
David Levi

Love it, how about making it even wider by adding.

McCracken,
Cameron,
Possibly Vea
Baff
Sorovi
Watts
Nieman
Sam
Shalkerton

That could be a 16 man tourney,
8 blue
8 red

It's 1 loss if you lose, it's 4 wins if you win, and quality fights assured, and an IBO belt at the end.

Green gives back, boxing is gaining more credibility with mundane quieting down, now could be the time.

This would be epic.

A middleweight series could be awesome also.

16 man tourney worth prime time television and a big money pay day that would ensure the winner wouldn't have to fight for another year like Wood did to get a crack at the IBF title and $250,000

That is a great New Zealand line up. If it was at a catchweight my list would look like this:

Blue team:
Robert Berridge
Adrian Taihia
Warren Fuiava
Daniel McKinnon
Steve Heremaia
Gunner Jackson
Lee Oti
Sam Rapira

Yellow team:
Blake Caparello
Ben McCulloch
Les Sherrington
Jarrod Fletcher
Omar Shaick
Robbie Bryant
Garth Wood
Daniel Dawson

I'd also make it New Zealand vs Australia instead of the Blue and Yellow teams.
