Any Disabled Boxing programmes anywhere

I have mentioned in the past about a gym offering me a one armed guy to box on my shows .

At the time i laughed it off , but having seen him training and sparring hes actually fairly descent and more than capable of competiting with able bodied novices .

Of course no opponent is realistically going to box him as its a lose lose situation really , either they beat a one armed guy , or become a laughing stock by losing to a one armed guy .

In actual fact he had his right arm amputated at the elbow as a toddler , hes not gone into the reasons why though , and can put a glove on his right arm to use for defence .

Just wondering if anybody knows of any organisations in which he could legitimately compete ?

Or failing that does anyone know of anyone with a similar disability who is in the same situation so that they could box each other on a white collar show ?

I feel terrible keep telling him i cant let him box , i dont want to be seen as discriminating against him either .

He trains 5 days per week as well as working full time , i just think its such a shame he cant seem to give it a go , i know i cant match him with an able bodied guy , for various reasons , so i wont even entertain the idea .

The preference for him would be Amateur but i doubt thats likely .

Sounds a complicated situation mate. On one hand you cant blame people for not wanting to box him as like you said it's lose-lose but you cant help feeling bad for him in that sense.

If theres some sort of organisation available then yes .

Ive googled but dont seem to able to find any sort of Disabled ABA etc .

Surely theres ex soldiers etc that would fall into this category .

Its obviously unconventional but hes desperate to compete , hes done 3 Kickboxing bouts and won all 3 , against able bodied people .

A solution for the short term could be to give him slots on shows for demonstrations on the pads. I've seen this done before for people with disabilities so it could give him the chance to show off his skills in the limelight as the chances of finding suiti opponents is slim.
