RBR - Rees vs Crolla

Post by Lenny Cravats »

Brian Rose has just finished.

Pretty good fight, more competitive than it should have been. He doesn't look world-level to me.

It's nice to hear a boxer being genuine about their talent and where they are.

He doesn't even look European level to me, Rabchenko takes him out in 8.

Saw quite a bit of Quigg's jab in there, he takes the first.

Quigg starting to put combinations together now, nice single shots to the body, too.
Floors Prado at the end of the round with a right hand.

This one'll be over soon.

Not too impressed by Rose... goes life and death with alcine and looks flat vs Ribchev... He needs to control distance better and use that precise counter straight more like he did at the end...

Hls of the fight here:

Impressive. Very impressive. KO from a decent right hand after landing accurate head and body punches all round.

Nice punch selection, extremely accurate, very good timing - he's a bright prospect, alright. Didn't think much of his opponent, but it was a good display of his skills.

Great performance from Quigg, looked very sharp to say its his first fight for 8 months.

Note to Rose - thats how you deal with a tune up/stay busy fight.

The kid is already one of the best body puncher, i really like how he cooked Prado with his heavy lead hand in combo.

Well, we won't know much more from that. KO1, opponent down 3 times.

Looks to leave himself quite open and has a habit of punching from his elbow, still, he's keeping busy -- which he'll need to do at 29.

Its been a while since I have seen a fighter become disinterested so quickly than that bloke he was fighting. A medium breeze would have put him over.

rnd 1 smith v Dodson
even round. if I had to give it it someone, smith landed a decent overhand right and 1 good left hook,
best punches of the round.
10-9 smith but either way

Missed the first two rounds, Jesus, round 3 was all out. Dodson down and cut badly, fighting back like the hard bastard he is. That was a hell of a punch that put him over.

hard to score these rounds.
smith has been willing to give up the center of the ring and circle and jab and
occasionally fight off the ropes. I just see him getting off the better shots and being
more effective
all 5 rounds for smith for me

McCrory showing all his boxing knowledge by giving the 3rd 10-9 to Dodson because 'he came back into it so well'.

that was a really hard shot but dodson was still on his feet so wondering if he
could have gone on a while longer.
still respect for dodson, though. so often you see fighters get hit and not want
any more of it but dodson kept coming forward. I can definitely see some
people scoring some of those rounds for dodson even though I had it a shut out
with the 3rd round kd.
