Golovkin is going to steamroll everyone unless someone with power, goes in with the plan to take him out. We'll then see how his chin is. If it's bad, he's done as a consistent elite boxer.

He's got great technique and obvious power, but he's beating opponents with gameplan and confidence more than anything else.

I think Geale is very average. I think Barker has a very good chance at winning that.

Which MWs do you consider power-punchers?

You doubt his chin? He has never ever been dropped in over 350 amateur fights and the pros. I have absolutely no doubts about his chin, it seem solid to me.

when he grows into 168 a fight with Froch would be a great fight.

The thing is is that GGG is not a one dimensional fighter. He can adjust. I doubt anyone is beating him any time soon.

I doubt it as well simply becaue 160 is very week right now. he will have to gain some weight for money fights.

I still think Golovkin is too small for 168 but he hits so hard and his chin looks very solid so i think he could do it. Bit of a freak of nature.

SouthpawStephen wrote:Golovkin started out the fight boxing and not coming forward. He was boxing beautifully and was seeing what Macklin had. After about a minute in to the fight is when G started pressuring. And he did so because he had an answer to a question. If there is a guy out there that can over power G, he will not fight the same fight. He has incredible experience... and successful experience at that.
He's a freak!

GGG should clean out MW first. I have no doubts that he's the best MW in the world now.

I've expected Geale to be served up as a sacrificial lamb since GGG beat Proksa, surprised it hasn't come to pass - seems like an easy strap to pick up to me. Maybe some ppl rate Geale tho.

It was an impressive performance--though I picked him to stop Macklin, I thought he'd be tested some.

Barker and Martin Murray are both in the studio on the british broadcast and they're both basically saying they want no part of GGG without actually saying it.

 you cant really blame them going off that. I agree that you want to see fighters fighting the best though.

I agree. I don't think for a moment that a fight with Sergio will happen but he may not even be around this time next year. There's a lot of solid, unspectacular guys at 160 (like Murray and Barker) who should really be meat and drink for GGG.

The way HBO is riding them both I can't see them rushing to put Ward and Golovkin in together anytime (irrespective of whether Ward has to move up to LHW or GGG is too small for SMW) soon but I assume they'll be angling for that a little way down the line.

Cant see Martinez beating Golovkin going on that. Even though Martinez has quicker feet, the way Golovkin cuts off the ring is very impressive. I see the fight playing out with Martinez running around like a headless chicken until Golovkin catches up with him which would be sooner rather than later with the way he cuts the ring down.
