For the life of me I can't understand the problem people have with Matchroom. There is a reason why people want to box for them - they make sure their fighters are looked after. It can only make the sport a better place as it will force the aforementioned morally bankrupt promoter to follow suit - the stick they get is a real headscratcher.MarkMcBurney wrote:
I agree. As a child of the 80's I'll always be grateful to Frank for some brilliant nights in front of ITV involving people like Benn, Eubank, Collins & Bruno; but things like that always leave a bit of a sour taste, especially give that, love them or hate them, Matchroom have done it the 'right way' and are a bloody successful company. Granted, as Barry says, that's not all down to Boxing but you've got to admire their success.
What goes around comes around, and he can only scrape around convincing people to pour money into a format that won't pay off for so long. He isn't the top dog anymore, he just won't accept it, which will ultimately be the end of him.
