Regarding him liking to fight. Well that could be because he has yet to be hit by someone who can really bang. I suspect getting hit on the chin by a big puncher might 'take the fight' out of him somewhat. It's easier to enjoy a tear up when you are getting hit with feather dusters! It's obvious Fury has kept away from anyone with a dig. Fair play to him for going in with Haye.

Furys leftovers in Chisora?! Fury couldnt KO a fat out of shape Chisora. Haye easily KO'd an in hsape, focused Chisora. Oh and Fury only just beat an obese John McDermott... And a lot of people had him as losing that.Horse wrote:He almost lost to Valuev. How does that suggest he will beat Fury at all, let alone easily?
People are in for a rude awakening when Fury gets his hands on Haye.
Imagine Haye vs. McDermott, would be gameover ina couple of rounds. Fury is improving a bit and is in better shape, but he is not good enough to beat Haye, if they fought ten times he would lose 9 times, maybe ten.
The bias regarding this fight is ridiculous. I dont really like either of them, although Fury is growing on me, I used to quite like Haye but he has too much arrogance for me, and the performance against Wlad let himself down in my opinion.
From an impartial point of view, Haye will most probably win, either way it should be an entertaining build up and fight.

As a pro he has yet to face a banger. That can't be argued. Ams is a different sport and he had to fight Price at sme stage because he wanted to win the ABA's that year and also wanted his England/Britain spot. Once Price beat him and it became obvious the selectors were not looking at anyone else, Fury suddenly became Irish, or at least attempted to become Irish to try and get to Beijing.mickey1975 wrote:He certainly didn't seem bothered about going in with huge puncher Price when he was 17 and Price was a fully grown man and member of the England team. Price got dropped because he has a poor chin. Fury's is better. Thing is, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement! Being dropped by non-punchers in his pro career thus far isn't a great sign. He has also been kept away from anyone who can bang so far, why is this? It's pretty obvious they didn't want to risk anything. It happens quite a lot with prospects, especially at heavyweight. Haye will test his chin that's for sure and if Cunningham can drop him heavily then Haye can switch him off. That's my take it on it anyway.
I look forward to the build up and the fight. As I say, I like both fighters so bias, unlike some, doesn't play a part in my prediction.
Re: Fury on the Haye fight , the facts !
What do you mean by heavily? Why does everyone say Fury was dropped heavily? He didn't seem very hurt by the knock down to me.lillywhite14 wrote:Haye will test his chin that's for sure and if Cunningham can drop him heavily then Haye can switch him off. That's my take it on it anyway.
Re: Fury on the Haye fight , the facts !
Fury's been knocked down by 2 small guys who frankly had no business to be in with a top 10-15 ranked HW.
Fury fans are the last lot that should be talking about chins.

To his credit he looked buzzed with his wide eyes but shook it off pretty well. His fitness played a part in his recovery ( had it been a couple of years earlier I think he wold have been stopped )Horse wrote:What do you mean by heavily? Getting dropped by Cunningham, heavily ( or not in your eyes, it was not exactly a flash knockdown was it? ) is not a good sign I'm afraid, given Cunningham cant knock the icing off a cake ( relatively speaking of course! )
The nightclub doorman who put him over isn't promising either!
My point is getting any kind of dropped against "powder puff" punchers isn't great when facing a genuine banger. He lacks a banger in his record does he not?
Re: Fury on the Haye fight , the facts !
Even Fury's not that stupid. If he genuinely believed he'd easily handle David Haye he wouldn't have let MH feed him club fighters, journeymen and cruisers since beating Chisora.keithmoonhangover wrote:What I love about this fight is that both fighters genuinely think it's gonna be an easy night.

Mick's been trying to hold him back to get some experience, which is what he should have done. What did you want after Chisora? Two fights against top10 opponents and then Wlad?Karl Jade wrote:Even Fury's not that stupid. And Fury never has been. And Fury never got stopped by an old man the first time he stepped up. An old man who shipped every Hayemaker going. Several times. Haye was 23 at the time, the same age Fury was when he won the British title against the then unbeaten Chisora....Karl Jade wrote:Not in 2012 or '13 he wasn't.mickey1975 wrote:Haye was badly hurt against a Super-Middle... See what I mean? It's all spin. who knows what will happen until they get in the ring? Of course Haye is favourite but I don't think its as clear cut as people think. I don't think he is nearly as good as some others and think he gets overrated on here.

Re: Fury on the Haye fight , the facts !
Headgear does not one iota slow down the velocity or energy when a punch lands on impact. Headgear does not prevent knockouts. Its purpose is to help prevent cuts, bruises, swelling while in training or in amateur fights. The size of gloves do not lessen the impact or velocity of a punch either. In fact, the bigger the gloves are, the more surface area there is, which only maximises the power of the punches being thrown. Gloves are only intended to protect the hands of the man throwing the punches, not the head of the man receiving them. As for round durations, the longer a fight is scheduled it's more evident or (at least in theory) apparent that the two fighters will slow down the pace of a fight, and often take 'rounds off'. The shorter the fights are scheduled, the more dangerous the fights could become because it forces the two combatants to punch, fight harder, and score knockdowns/knockouts.earsjohn wrote: Remind me what happened when they were ordered to fight for Furys UK title, without head guards, with lighter gloves and over 12 rounds?
As for why Fury/Price didn't happen. That's anyone's guess. Same logic could go into why Ali never did rematch Foreman. Same logic could be used as to why Duran never rematched Hearns. Some things are just out of the reach and control of the two parties involved. I imagine it came down to the promoters rather than the fighters. Maybe Price is the better puncher, or at least at one time was the better boxer. But as a pro he's taken a road less hard and troublesome than Fury has. And that is the difference between amateurs and pros. Price is still in the mindset of being an amateur and being guided slowly--- I give him the brass balls for courage award for going back after Thompson, but for him to win and really get over with the public he will have to do it convincly and knock out Thompson. Anything else will open the door for uncertainty and doubt among the fans.
And if Fury loses to Haye, it wouldnt be as dramatic as the loss to Thompson was for Price. Because nobody expects Fury to win this fight. If anything he's being commended for taking a huge step up from the Cunningham's and the Rogan's. Pulev was a big step up, but he took it farther. Haye is the #3 heavyweight in the world in the minds of millions. Why fight someone who nobody really knows or gives a crap about for little to no money at all, its a high risk and low reward proposition. With Haye its high risk, high reward on many levels.
What I find funny is people down play Tyson Fury so much, but if it was Price in that ring with Haye, you know as well as I do that Price would get sparked out cold by Haye too. So this silly banter about Fury and Price is all ballyhoo and bullshit. At this moment and time Fury is on another level altogether than Price, where Price has to prove himself beyond a shadow of a doubt to regain the confidence of the boxing world against a man who less than six months ago was completely written off as a has been in America. Fury just has to survive this fight, let alone win it to be considered a true top five heavyweight. Depending on his performance when he fights Haye, win lose or draw, he will be far closer to being taken serious than Price.

Why does it always come down to Fury and Price?
It's not effing football. Because you like one it doesn't mean you have to hate the other!
Bias plays a huge part in Fury/Price discussions.

Why do people keep referring to Pajkic and Cunningham as small?!?Karl Jade wrote:Fury's been knocked down by 2 small guys who frankly had no business to be in with a top 10-15 ranked HW.

Both are taller and weigh more than Haye. And Cunningham is taller than Larry Holmes and Ali.
Cunningham is in reality about 2"s taller than Haye (ignoring the 'listed heights) and has a 5" reach advantage over Haye. Pajkic is an inch taller than Haye and weighs about a stone and a half more.
Haye has been put on his backside by GENUINELY little sub 6 foot guys like Mormeck, Thompson and Mock. Someone of Fury's frame, weight and sheer size will have no problem knocking Haye down IF he can catch him

Pajkic is dogshit. Cunningham is a washed up cruiser with little power.
Haye is a blown up cruiser with serious power. Since he has stepped up in weight he looks stronger. Took a few flush shots from Wlad who I'm sure we can all agree hits a little bit harder than Fury and managed to avoid going down
All three are small, relatively speaking. It's a common theme in Fury opponents. ( sits back and awaits the 'what about Belshaw' comments

Fury has fought plenty of very big guys. He's just always bigger than them himself so it gets ignored.

Genuine question for all those so convinced Tyson Fury is going to make short work of David Haye; why? And also what's happened in the past few months to justify that?
