Do you have difficulty reading?

Where in the poll did it say Floyd Patterson when he asked which of Mike Tyson or Ali had faster hands?

__

I think Ali slightly faster, but Tyson certainly had the quicker combo's imo.

Ali had a jab timed at 4/100th's of a second. I dont know if Tyson's speed was ever measured, but I dont think in terms of hand speed Mike was as fast or faster than Tyson. He was comparable but still a few shades slower than Ali.

Tyson surely had far more fast switch fibres. Ali wouldnt be able to match the speed of Tyson's signature short range combinations. Ali was more fleet footed with better long range punches.

Ali was probably faster a lot of the time because he didn't load up on his shots as often as Tyson...to be as big a puncher as he was though, Tyson was extremely fast.

and ali was the winner!!!

Did I ask who is the fastest handspeed in heavyweight history? No. I asked who has the quicker hands between Tyson or Ali.

I would say Ali overall, but that Tyson threw power hooks faster than any other heavyweight I've seen.

they had different kind of handspeed and used
it in different ways. ali was willing to just flick
out jabs for points and wearing down. to me he
most of the time held back in both speed and
power. he did what he had to do. if he really
intended to have fast hands he was as fast as
you can possibly be as a man of his stature.
though this clip is more about his reflexes than
hand speed, it has a nice flurry at around 3:55.

on the other hand mike punched to hurt and
used full body almost all of the time. the max
speed impression i got from him was always
a combination of body- and handspeed, like
here:

i find the sequence around 1:30 really stunning.

overall i voted for mike by the slightest possible
margin.

I'm going with Muhammad by a shade. From a faster handspeed point of view, I'd would go with Muhammad more, but Tyson is almost as quick, though not Dokes quick.
