i dont know about no 10
i`d say out of that list only foreman punched harder than frank bruno in a pure one shot power test.
if its a combination of power, accuracy, shot selection and finishing ability then thats easy - joe louis. he didnt just club fella`s senseless he took fella`s apart methodically like a mechanic stripping a car engine.

I think the key to this thread is one punch power, and the Drago comparison is the answer....forget accuracy, speed and frequency...Louis I feel owns this scenario, or even Tyson...but for one single almighty punch, Foreman, Shavers, maybe Lennox or even Liston are the favorites........

Coetzee had 1 punch KO power in either hand, especially his right hand hence the name the Bionic man.

Terry Lawless said this to Bruno before fighting Coetzee 'Frank, even though Gerrie is now past his best you have to treat him with tremedous respect, he is, next to Shavers the hardest puncher of the last 15 years'.

i disagree, patterson and walcott were GREATER punchers than coatzee, whether or not they hit as hard.

-walcott knocked out charles with one punch, charles hadnt been knocked out in 8 years when he was just a 19 year old green middle. walcott floored great joe louis 3 times in two fights, and floored great chinned marciano

- i think firpo hit just as hard with his right as coatzee did, i mean firpo nearly knocked out jack dempsey.

terry lawless overexagerated, he was not the hardest hitter besides shavers of the past 15 years, guys like foreman, frazier defintely hit harder than coatzee

Foreman and Frazier does hit harder than Coetzee but Frazier retired in 80 and Foreman went into his 10 year retirement in 77. So that leaves Shavers and Coetzee as the hardest punchers and Coetzee can punch very hard with his overhand right and also he was fast with it as well that made him even more dangerous.

He was past it against Bruno, for Tate he tried boxing instead of slugging like he did against Spinks and Weaver he had him out on his feet in the 8th but again got tired and weaver managed to TKO an exhausted Coetzee. If you want to see his best KO's see Ledoux or Stan Ward, both brutal KO's.

Also name other fighters beside Shavers who hit harder than Coetzee in the last 15 years? Frazier fought his last fight in 1980 and that draw with Cummings proved he was done.

nice effort,

tyson should be much higher, no one could match his all around punching abilities except louis.

joe louis should defintley be # 1, no one has a case otherwise

i give jack the edge over rocky, because he had faster hand speed and threw better combinations even though he didnt hit as hard as marciano.

wlad should be over vitali. wlad had the much better offense and hit harder

firpo besides a right hand, had nothing else.

chuvalo should not be on the list, certianly not over mike tyson!
