What would put me off is Murray is the fresher of the two, not just after the semis but they skipped the French Open purposefully to concentrate on winning Wimbledon.

I don't think Djokovic is as nailed on as some people think.
Djokovic is a beast. No issues with his stamina, nor probably Murrays.

I think Murray will bottle it again.

Djokovic-Murray head to head in finals 4-4, Murray 1-0 on grass I'd go 5/6 the pair. Value is with Murray and remember he's only one match away from becoming fully English :D

I just don't see Murray having the consistency in a dogfight to hang with Novak on this form, his unforced error count is much higher this tournament and some of Djokovic's defending has been jaw-dropping. The guy chases everything down and then becomes Stretch Armstrong before turning defence into attack and hitting a winner. Murray has been playing far too much of his old negative style for my taste, and that will never be enough against the #1.

To win he has to play his best and take the match on and there is more pressure on him to do that than Novak.

If I win the Thompson bet all the proceeds are going on Djokovic, no question. Then if Murray wins it's still not so bad, we'll have a British champion at Wimbledon :)

There has been a huge gamble on Butcher against Satchell with Ladbrokes.

They opened up this morning

1/8 Satchell
5/1 Butcher

they are now

1/2 Satchell
13/8 Butcher

These Scottish lads certainly fancy there man, it wont be as much money as you would imagine but clearly a few thousand at least has to have been staked.

Be interesting to see just how good he is.

He is good but I think there would be little betting on the fight apart from us Scottish punters which has the clueless bookies not wanting to take a risk.

Yep, as soon as I saw the odds for this I was on it. Crazy odds based only on hype and British bias.

they were just mental how can someone who was KO'd so easily in 2 rounds be the favourite in a rematch?

To me it just shows that the bookies don't really do boxing very well at all. For them it's a minority sport, probably the same guy who does boxing has a load of other sports to do and doesn't know boxing like we do on here! Even then though, there were people on here saying 1.4 on a Price KO was lump-on-worthy.

I've been thinking about this, I can only assume over the years the bookies, in an occasional absence of oddsmaking knowledge for boxing, have got wise to the fact that matchups are so frequently made because certain parties 'fancy the job' as it were, and they probably took into account the sentiment that the rematch wouldn't have happened if team Price didn't know something.

Anyway, congrats to those who got on the train and now I'm faced with the prospect of putting it all on Djokovic...was so confident I was going to before the event but now it seems a slightly more scary prospect ... :D

EDIT... Djokovic has gone from 3/5 best to 4/6 on hills! WH, of all bookies, has had the best odds for both the Thompson KO and now this, wonders will never cease.

I know this will look like massive after-timing but I stuck £2 on Ronny Huybrechets in the European Darts thingy at 200/1, was able to lay him for a few quid at 27/1 when he beat Taylor last night so assured of a profit, comes in at well over £200 if he manages to do it!

Stuck all my winnings on Djokovic at 4/7 with skybet. He was 8/13 last night but been backed in a bit. I fancy 3-1 in sets & 11/4 also.

:TU: Nice odds! Pretty hard to win ever when it's priced at 200/1. Best for me was Prescott KO1 Khan at 80/1 but I could have had 125/1 if I'd shopped around.

Is anyone piling on Novak here? I just think 4/6 is great value for someone as good as him. His consistency is key for me with Murray's tendency to be inconsistent playing on my mind. Someone persuade me to do it :)
