He more or less asked him if he thinks he's going to have another heart attack. His personal health shouldn't have been questioned in an interview like that. Intervieers in general in this country seem to be complete idiots. How about that idiot last week that asked Andy Murray if he should get the Fergy hair dryer treatment for winning a 5 set semi final.

I think that was a different situation to be fair. The guy interviewing Murray was a complete pillock because it wasnt that Murray was playing badly. His opponent *who ive forgotten the name of* was just playing well.

Yeah, most are pretty bad. Garry Richardson is a BBC employee who is widely regarded as a troll interviewer who for some reason is still employed despite his total lack of understanding of how to ask an insightful question or conduct a decent interview.

Absolutely no hatred in my post - just a recent overview of his other interviews and television appearances.
I actually don't mind Frank Maloney at all, despite the often daft stuff he has said recently, but he's definitely not been himself lately and should turn it in now for his own health.
You could understand his tears if Price was "like a son" to him. But he isn't - and the tears were just because he's on the edge with it all (boxing).

yeah but you said you wanted to give another angle on it by pointing out a couple of comments Maloney made. I don't see how either comment could really justify being cold enough to take enjoyment from seeing a man break down after having a heart attack and various other problems.
I had no trouble with the interview or the questions, And i did not break down the way you all think i did it was more angry with myself over things that went on and probable because as i am not David manger i do not have a great say in he total career i just offer advice and do what team Price ask. As i believe we all work for the fighter. I have had a great career in boxing done things a guy can only dream of met some great people, Will sit down with David after a few days out and have a good chat about everything before i make up my mind as what is best to do for all. I would like to thank my family, loyal staff and great friend plus all the fan's for there support and kind words THANK YOU ALL.

when you put the result/performance/matchmaking chat aside, that was a very good show. the pre-fight 'entertainment' howver left a huge amount to be desired and was slightly embarrasing as a my housemate's missus ripped the piss out of us for watching such nonsense.

You and Price should continue mate. If that's what you want I mean. Price can still achieve things in the sport. He just needs to work on a few things. Also it was too big a jump up from the likes of Skelton and sexton, etc to Thompson who's better than he's given credit for.

I think David Haye once said,in a rare moment of genuine insight, that all promoters are c**ts and its just a case of using the one that's the least of c**t at the time needed. ( Christ it must be bad when your using david haye as a source of wisdom) .
In all probability there has been dozens of fighters over the years who poured their heart out and broke down to maloney asking for a bit of help, be it a fight or a loan etc... And you can bet maloney turned them down without a hint of compassion.
I'm not having a pop at him for that, its the way it is, just don't expect it change because your on the other side
Alex Steedman is a good interviewer/reporter - I think he handled both the Thompson and Maloney interviews well. He seems to know his boxing too, and asking Frank that question was justified and there didn't appear to be any malice behind it.

Exactly, have seen him being used sparingly on a few allegedly shows but thought he done an excellent job in both commentary and interviews on Saturday night, wouldn't be surprised to see Sky make a move for him in the future with Ian Darke moving to BT Sport.

Ive never really been a huge fan of Ian Darke's. I find him a bit annoying to be honest.

I like Maloney. Met him in a lift at the Stadium if Light last year. I was steaming drunk n told him my greatest joke (the one about the starving bloke n the blow job menu). He laughed out loud but big Dave Garside was less impressed. Chin up Frankie Boy you'll bounce back son.

I met Frank Maloney over 20 years ago at The Prince Of Wales pub in Balby, Doncaster. He had driven to see some of the boxers (including Peter Gabbittus, Carl Tilley, John Oxenham, Joel Forbes, John Smith and Brett Cuffy) who trained in the cellar/gym. I trained along with them though weren't as good as any of them. Frank spoke to the trainer; Mick Preston and was very polite and respectful to all the lads -Gabbittus was by far the most talented. I thought he was a decent fellow; he managed Lennox Lewis at the time and could have had his head right up his own arse but he didn't. He left £50 behind the bar for all the boxers and triers to have a pint on him - he didn't need to and that's my experience of him.
