Brook/Jones - Distance?

Post by GlobalBox »

Is this over 10 rounds or 12 rounds - not at Welterweight apparently its one of the catchweight fights that are hitting our bills more regularly.

Heard its at 150, one of the sites is reporting that Brooks team tried to get it changed to 152 after 150 had been agreed, anyone know if any truth in that?

Hoping Kell is not struggling to make 150, to be honest 10 rounds would suit him better as Jones wont get going for 4 or 5 rounds.

Let's hope he dont come unstuck here I still feel he has plenty left to offer as long as he can stay injury free and make whichever weight he fights at ok.

It is 10 rounds and Kell isn't struggling he wants/needs to move up in weight as WW is killing him he should do 150 fine.

I'm not convinced by Brook at all. He should be fighting 12 rounds every fight now.

I guess you haven't seen Eddie Hearn's interview he says Kell can't make the weight at the moment and am sure he said he may move up.

If he can't make welter does that make him a light middle or does he need to grow into the weight? Brian Rose would be a hard fight for him as he'll have to re establish himself at the new weight.

Its funny they're saying he cant make the weight now as in a couple of interviews lately on Ifilm they're talking about how they have to earn their shot at Amir Khan. Last time I checked he was just moving up to WW.

So after all the talk of his S&C coach and nutritionist (both from Sheffield Hallam Uni I believe) and all the talk pre-Alexander(the 3rd time), he now can't do the weight? Strange. What is really going on? Does he have a motivation problem?

Smoke and mirrors but it cannot be hidden in the Boxing Ring!!

The guy has went nowhere in the last year, except fighting a guy he fought a year ago!

It sounded like he has been through a massive motivation problem over the last few months. He said he had 'fell out of love with Boxing for a while' on an IFilm interview not long since. It is a worry when somebody starts talking like that. Not that I blame him, but how often do people 'fall back into love' with something? Not all that often. I love Kell as a boxer and I think it'll be a huge waste of talent if he doesn't get a world title.

If he is struggling to do the weight you have to wonder if he's at a genuine risk of losing this fight? If his motivation isnt there then there is a genuine chance he could come unstuck. As much as I give Brook stick, the guy does have talent. You hope he isnt pissing it up the wall.

Yep . . . I was leaning towards taking him by stoppage this time around. The weight could make his punching heavier.

Brook needs a kick up the arse, because he's wasting his career. If he's not ready now he's never going to be.

He was WBO number 1 nearly three years ago, he'e been with Matchroom for two years now and he's been IBF number 1 for about a year, if not longer.
