I believe you are correct.
In 1976, California changed to the 10-Point 'Must' System.
In 1975 they were using a Rounds System with 'supplemental points'.

* Fight Promoter - Aileen Eaton
Andy 'The Hawk' Price got to test another hard-hitting Mexican Welterweight in Jose Baquedano.
In the meantime, Jose 'Pipino' Cuevas' got the chance and 'upset' WBA Welterweight Champion -
Angel Espdada by a {TKO 2} on July 17, 1976 in a Bull-Ring in Mexicali.
I been watching fights in California for 65 years and I don't recall Calif ever using the rounds system with supplemental points. Different point systems have been used though

Here's 'two' famous California bouts using the Round System.
Ken Norton vs. Muhammad Ali I --- {1973}
Ken Norton vs. Muhammad Ali II -- {1973}
They were not scored by the round system, in the early '70s Calif. was using the five point systems, one or more points to the winner of the round the loser getting more. Even rounds no points were given to either fighter...It was a lousy system that didn't worked out too good...It didn't last. The state went back to what it was using before, the ten point must system
"referee: Frank Rustich 7-4 | judge: Hal Rickards 5-4 | judge: Fred Hayes 5-6
NABF heavyweight title
Ali suffered a broken jaw during this bout."
Check the numbers, none add-up to 12 rounds
In the early '50s even fractions were used. Check below
1953-01-29 Art Aragon 144¾ vs Billy Graham 147 98-10-8
Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles, California, USA L UD 10 10
referee: Joe Stone 54½-55½ | judge: Frankie Van 53-57 | judge: Mushy Callahan 54-56
Some time in the mid to late '50s the state went to the ten point must system, then it went to the five points, when that didn't work it went back to the ten point system. What a mess it was!!!
