Andy Green v Jez Van Dieman

Post by amwsnw »

Unfortunately i didnt get to the show but from reading the news articles it sounded like the fight lived up to the hype.
Luke sharp appears to have put on a clinic and all others fights went as expected.
I would like to see a rematch between Jez and Andy but i am not sure it serves either any purpose. Its one of those things where they could probably fight each other 10 times and have 8 draws....10 rounds would be intereting though.
Would like to hear thoughts from those who saw the fight.

Cheers

Van Deimen Vs Green...It was a great fight, Both guys gave there all. I timekept the fight and couldn't split them. a draw was a fair result. Both fighters will be better for the experience. Im not sure a rematch serves either well at the moment, Maybe a 4-5 fights against different opponents then a rematch would sell out a bigger stadium IMO.

Luke sharp looked impressive, Giving the much more experienced Mitrevski a real touch up. Mitrevski gave his all but every time he really tried to put pressure on he ended up copping the worst of the exchanges.

Jason Cooper from QLD really impressed me, His opponent Rasmundin was a really fast fighter with good power. Cooper just took it to the Indonesian and beat him from the outside. And then threw great body shots on the inside that really affected Rasmundin. Cooper will go a long way in boxing. The young guy has some real ability.
