ouch.
apologies to our friends based in Liverpool but I can see Smith taking the mother, father and multi-sibling family of all beatings, here.

I thought Simpson was lined up to challenge Buckland? Smith-Buckland is still a good fight.

Re: Stephen Smith vs Buckland and Enzo vs McKenzie CONFIRMED!
I heard Simpson was moving back down to feather :?? I suppose if Lee Selbys moving on to pastures new i suppose he,ll want to reclaim his throne, but in saying that he was having sucess up at super featherweight and was looking good, before he moved up i seem to remember him saying he could make feather no sweat so...maybe he was feeling the stength of the bigger men?ShadrachSimmo wrote:I thought Simpson was lined up to challenge Buckland? Have to agree, shame I always thought Stephen is the soundest, that said the amount of back slapping that goes on with all them is embarrassing from an outsider point of view, I always prefer those who are successful to go about it quietly, ah well.

Smith V Buckland is very good fight. John Thain v Ronnie hefferon on the undercard too.
Re: Stephen Smith vs Buckland and Enzo vs McKenzie CONFIRMED!
Simpson pulled out to fight on the Burns undercard after Hatton won the purse bid.ShadrachSimmo wrote:I thought Simpson was lined up to challenge Buckland? Smith-Buckland is still a good fight.

Re: Stephen Smith vs Buckland and Enzo vs McKenzie CONFIRMED!
Smith is slick, but Buckland is a real 'bull in a china shop' fighter whom looks supremely strong at the weight.
Should be a good blend of styles indeed.
I have a soft spot for Enzo but.... *insert Enzo should retire speech HERE*

Last throw of the dice for Enzo? Another loss to McKenzie would result in retirement surley?
Re: Stephen Smith vs Buckland and Enzo vs McKenzie CONFIRMED!
He might look surly afterwards if he gets KO'd again.Exoddus wrote:Last throw of the dice for Enzo? Another loss to McKenzie would result in retirement surley?

Re: Stephen Smith vs Buckland and Enzo vs McKenzie CONFIRMED!
Think if Enzo can weather the storm of the first 3 or 4 rounds and stay disciplined, stick to his boxing he can win this. Thought he was boxing well in the first fight, he got caught by McKenzie on the ropes, but this is boxing and you are going to take a few shots, don't think it should of been stopped though.
Think Swifty could of done with getting a good 6 rounder under his belt before this, to get his timing right, but he does have the skills to win, interesting fight this, because Buckland always comes to fight and will put Smith under pressure think good 50/50 fight this.

Hope enzo-ovill get's a better referee
Re: Stephen Smith vs Buckland and Enzo vs McKenzie CONFIRMED!
Can't help but feel that Smith isn't ready for this fight.
I'll also be watching Enzo fight from behind a cushion, but i hope he does him.

Shown on allegedly?
Re: Stephen Smith vs Buckland and Enzo vs McKenzie CONFIRMED!
They are both good bouts; Buckland is really pushing on and Smith seems to be hitting hard; I can see Smith boxing well and then Gary getting to grips with him after halfway and closing the gap, it should be a really good clash of styles. I'm glad that Enzo has got a rematch with Ovill; he wasn't in real trouble in the first bout and shouldn't have been stopped. They are both mature and experienced fighters and Ovill can be hurt early as well; McKenzie seems to blow a lot of energy early and I think Enzo can shock him by battling through and nailing him after 3 rounds but before 9. Hope it all holds together; it'll be a good night of boxing.
