How confident is Carson that he can change the result this time? In the first fight he seemed to start too slow and give away the first six rounds. Obviously a fair amount of that was Brook's boxing ability aswell but in the second half of the fight he seemed to really put the pressure on and really make Kell work and thats when Kell looked in trouble.

Immensely. He took the fight for far less than he got last time. He did it because he felt he gave the first one away and wanted another crack. He has had great sparring and he will put pressure on Brook who coming in heavier and after a serious foot injury will certainly be a half step slower on his feet. That half step is all Carson needs.

All due respect but your boy is in deep water this time trust me.
He has my respect from the first fight between them he proved to be a tough kid .
Tomorrow night he will see the improvement he instigated in Kell and we owe him a debt of gratitude for that.
Just be sure to pull him out before any serious damage is done he has nothing to prove and wouldnt want to see him hurt.

I look forward to it. The first fight was very entertaining! He's no longer training up in big bear right? I hope that doesnt affect his own stamina with the added bonus altitude training has.

Oh whatever. Watch all the press conferences leading up to the first fight and you will hear Brooks people and Brook saying the same thing. "I am in the best shape of my life, camp was amazing" blah blah blah. Then afterwards he has not stopped making excuses. When a fighter makes that many excuses after winning, I cannot imagine how pathetic he will sound after losing.

Hes been training in Houston in very hot, humid conditions that are absolutely brutal. His condition is definitely not an issue. He is in great shape.

Just watching the first fight now. Jones did bloody well to stand up to a lot of the shots he took in that fight. He never took a backward step really either which shows he's bloody tough.

He has a great chin and recovers quickly when he is stung.

I tell him that he is like Jason from Friday the 13th. You can shoot him, blow him up, but as soon as you think hes dead, back he comes to kill you! :OhYes:

Has he changed his style over the years? The reason I ask that is I watched a bit of his fight with Soto Karass and he seemed to boxing more at range in that fight. Against Brook he seemed to be more a straight up come forward fighter with his gloves held high. Or did he think that would be a better way to fight Kell with constant pressure rather than trying to box him at range?

In boxing you "fight a boxer and box a fighter." Brook is a strong boxer, Karass is a brawler. Carson had to get to Brooks body to slow him down last time and wear him out. Carson had stopped every opponent he fought at welterweight prior to Brook. So the strategy was definitely to make it a war if possible. This time he has a few more tricks up his sleeve as you will see. Check out his fight with Said Ouali

You placed a large wager on Carson last time, if I remember correctly; are you doing the same this time Bobby?

Of course! But the odds are lower so not as enticing. Best I can find is 5-2 if I bet Carson.

The only worry id have is that its 10 rounds this time. Carson will have to make sure he gets going quickly this time.

He will. It will be a good fight, I guarantee it.

Don't believe the Brook propaganda about training camp issues etc. He is the same Kell Brook he was last year, except now he cant make weight and he has been fighting injuries. I remember clearly him saying last year before the fight about what a "perfect" training camp he had. Yesterday he was lying but today he tells the truth?

Do you think the extra weight will help or hinder Carson; would you have prefered a welter bout?

I enjoyed the fight last time so im expecting a good fight. What went wrong with the Byrne fight? Was he just not really motivated for that?

@BobbyDobbs

Good luck to you guys tomorrow. Really looking forward to this one, first fight was great and Carson made me a fan. Proper little fighter. (I'm a Brook fan to though). This is going to be an edge-of-seater. :TU:
Whatever the result if it's another barn-burner hopefully doors will open for both of them.

He had trained for 2 months to fight Lee Purdy, a guy who stands in front of you and brawls. We arrive in England and he is informed he now is getting only half his purse and we get Byrne who is a back footed boxer. I think the disappointment of not getting the fight he expected and the completely opposite type of fighter he prepared for led to that performance.

To answer the other question, I think the weight could be advantageous if it causes Brook to be even a fraction slower than he normally is. But, I would have rather seen it at 147 where it belonged.

Thank you. I must say that the UK has the best boxing fans in the world.
