UPDATE:

No eliminations since the last update.

Potential banana skin announced for Amir Mansour (Lackeos) in Maurice Harris on Aug 23.

Andy Ruiz (rampage) improved to 19-0 on Jun 8, beating Carl Davis.

Artur Szpilka (arthur2011) is now 15-0 after outpointing Brian Minto, and fights again on Aug 16 in a rematch vs Mike Mollo.

Bryant Jennings (DetroitHxC) beat Andrey Fedosov on Jun 14 and is now 17-0.

Dennis Boytsov (black panther) continued to tread water with another mediocre win, beating Oleksandr Nesterenko on June 15 and push his record up to 33-0.

Deontay Wilder (Diamond WEAPON) meets Siarhei Liakovich on Aug 9.

The dreaded "TBA" will test Luis Ortiz (HyacinthusTurnipseed) on Jul 20.

Very interesting test for Malik Scott (Madvega$) when he faces Dereck Chisora on Jul 20.

The least experienced entrant, Michael Wallisch (Belanio), looks to go to 10-0 tonight vs Alexander Kahl.

It's the big one on Sep 28 when Tyson Fury (ReggieDiggs) faces the acid test in David Haye.

Vyacheslav Glazkov (SJM122) meets Byron Polley on Aug 3.

ELIMINATION!

Malik Scott (Madvega$) is out after losing to Dereck Chisora on Saturday.

Plus, Richard Towers (@matt___s) has been moved to "inactive" following the cancellation of his fight with Lucas Browne.

Guys, you might as well give up now - my boy is going nowhere:

http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer

A guy that Tor Hamer and Joe Hanks dusted off on their debuts, and Deontay Wilder fought in his fourth bout, lost his last 9 fights.

And Ortiz's opponent before last was some unheralded guy making his debut (who sanctioned that?). Wilder, Mansour, abdusalamov et al are going to be stepping up way before this guy. Well, maybe not Boystov.

Good call, Mr Turnipseed (love the name and I get the homage, btw). Incidentally, do you know why was the impressive Rabotte win was changed to an NC?

PS Ortiz stepped up long ago. Remember, he beat Bert Cooper, who beat Brian Yates, who beat Earnie Shavers, who beat Jimmy Young, who beat George Foreman, who beat Joe Frazier, who beat Muhammad Ali.

ANOTHER ELIMINATION.

In a battle between fellow entrants, Andy Ruiz Jr (rampage) knocked Joe Hanks (JAHamilton77) out of the fight and the competition on Saturday.

My man! Love it that my boxer was able to eliminate a fellow participant--the first to do so, I believe, but he would have been beaten to the punch by Lucas Browne had Towers not had to pull out.

Oops, never mind. Pulev, Povetkin, and Wilder have all done so as well. Don't know what I was thinking...

Had a look a few days ago and the only thing I could find, apart from reports of the initially recorded knockout, was this from his updated boxrec record:

"NC due to Rabotte falling out of the ring and being unable to continue."

So I don't know if he was punched out of the ring and then someone decided that shouldn't count as a knockout(?), or what. Though it does prompt a question: do NCs count towards keeping a fighter out of the "inactive" pile or not?

Well...Wilder is still in--what a KO. Could see an elimination next week with Szpilka vs. Mollo--should be interesting. I missed the first fight, but if this one is the all-out war that the first one supposedly was, it should be fun.

Sure. A match being ruled an NC does not mean the match did not take place.

Mwahaha. Now is not the time to continue stepping up, Amir. Now is the time to step back down, and even go back to prison if possible. I need that 0 intact.

Exciting. By the end of the year we should have five more eliminations. Fury and Povetkin will most likely lose their 0's by this time next month as they fight Haye and Wlad. Glazkov will likely lose to Adamek. And we have two more matchups of undefeated heavies with Perez vs. Abdusalamov and Towers vs. Browne (re-scheduled again, this time in the UK).

UPDATE

ELIMINATION!

Alexander Povetkin (milpool) got thrashed by Wladimir Klitschko last week and drops out of the competition. Incidentally, Klitschko has single-handedly disposed of 3 entrants.

Schedule

Deontay Wilder (Diamond WEAPON) aims to improve to 30-0 (30) on Oct 26 when he takes on Nicolai Firtha.

Nov 2 could (barring draws) see two eliminations as Magomed Abdulsalamov (bfchunk) and Mike Perez (jammidodger) collide, and Lucas Browne (Stinger) and the currrently inactive Richard Towers (@matt___s) meet. If Towers wins or earns a draw, he will be classed as active again and be eligible to win the competition.

Big test for Vyacheslav Glazkov (SJM122) on Nov 16 against Tomasz Adamek.

UPDATE

Elimination

On Nov 2, there were two battles between entrants on the same night, guaranteeing two eliminations.

First, in England, Lucas Browne (Stinger) stopped Richard Towers (@matt___s). Browne improves to 18-0, while Towers drops out of the running.

Across the Atlantic, Mike Perez (jammidodger) outpointed Magomed Abdusalamov (bfchunk). Perez ups to 20-0, while Mago also drops out. *Abdusalamov suffered a brain injury in this fight and will never box again. He is thankfully out of his coma now but his long-term prognosis is not yet known*

Other results

Deontay Wilder (Diamond WEAPON) kept his perfect streak going and is now 30-0 (30) after beating Nicolai Firtha on Oct 26.

Erkan Teper (albert_ryder) scored a second impressive KO1 over respected veteran opposition, beating Martin Rogan on Nov 16 to improve to 12-0.

Vyacheslav Glazkov (SJM122) posted a points win over Garrett Wilson on Nov 16 to go to 16-0-1.

Schedule

Amir Mansour (Lackeos) meets Kelvin Price in a mildly interest test on Dec 14.

Andy Ruiz Jr (rampage) takes on Tor Hamer in a decent test tonight (Nov 23).

David Rodriguez (BigJuicyHog), inactive since Dec 2011, is set to return on Dec 14. He faces TBA.

Dennis Boytsov (black panther) also fights tonight, against the dangerous Alex Leapai in a match that almost looks too good to be true, given Boytsov's soft prior opposition.

Lucas Browne (Stinger) will mark time on Dec 13 when he fights journeyman Clarence Tillman.

Luis Ortiz (HyacinthusTurnipseed) continues his go-slow approach with a match against Alex Gonzales on Tuesday (Nov 26)
