48.Hernandez/Griffin
Have never seen Hernandez fight but I give him the edge based on that he was as dominant as Griffin and won the Olympics.

51 P.Reyes/Randolph
Randolph hardly beat Duvalon so he wouldn't beat Reyes who was better

54 Rigondeaux/Mckinney
Rigo would outbox McKinney easily

57 Herrera/M.Taylor
Tough one to call but Taylor beat Horta so he'd beat Herrera too... maybe

60.Kindelan/Whitaker
Kindelan...one of the best ever, it would not be nice to watch, two defensive masters in the ring

64 Vinent/Leonard
Sugar Ray would give Vinent problems with his speed

69 Hernandez/Breland
Great match! I give the edge to Hernandez. Despite Brelands impressive numbers I think he was overrated.

71 Garbey/Jones
Neither won olympic gold but the edge goes clearly to Jones here.

75 Hernandez/Patterson
Patterson too green at the time to beat Hernandez

81 Romero/Clay
Clay would outbox Romero who had trouble with movers

91 Savon/Mercer
Savon beat him when they fought prior to the Olympics

91+Stevenson/Foreman
Stevenson would probably KO an inexperienced Foreman.

I heard Page wanted no part of Stevenson. I don't no if that is true, it's just what I've heard.

Steveson outpointed Pages big amateur rival Tubbs so I guess the same would happen to Page.

Angel Milian beat Page by 2-1 decision in a USA-Cuba Dual Meet and Stevenson always beat Milian so probably he would hand Page a loss.

That's sad.I've read something to the effect that he wanted to attend his prom and graduation instead of fighting Teofilio in the World Championships, if that is really the case that's understandable, but if he really was scared of Stevenson, that causes some loss of respect in my book,despite of what he accomplished at that level.

Do you feel that a Mitch Green, or Marvis Frazier posed a challenge to Stevenson around '79, or '80? I was thinking maybe Green might put a scare or two in him.

agree with your picks-except I would take Whitaker to beat Kindelan-but would you not pay to see that fight-I think you are harsh on Roy,he won that gold medal in the worst decision in a final I can think off.

The dream fantasy, great post....My hot favorites for the states are Leonard, Clay, and Foreman....No way Steveson KO's big George, I see it the other way around....best fight is Leonard V Vinent...I saw Vinent and thought he was one of the best I'd ever seen, but after seeing Ray in Montreal, I'd never bet against him...Leonard by close decision

The 1968 version of Big George was very raw and he'd be too slow to beat a prime Stevenson. If Mitch Green was so good why did he never fight Teo?
Kindelan-Whitaker would be a very tactical battle were no one could afford to make a mistake. Not necessary a great action fight.
Mike, you're right, Roy Jones should be recognized as an olympic champion. Everyone knows he won.

Mike, you're right, Roy Jones should be recognized as an olympic champion. Everyone knows he won.

Not sure why Mitch didn't fight Teo, know he did fight the man who knocked out Teo, Igor Vysotsky, and supposedly lost a decision.Remember, Marvis Frazier was the top amateur around '80, and he didn't fight Teo.

Kindelan to beat Whitaker based on what I saw of Pernell in LA.....Not busy enough or slick enough to beat Kindelan......Taylor would have a better cahnce to beat Kindelan because he was faster than Pernell. How does Stevenson beat George, I see George ploughing through him to a KO win...Foreman was devestating in Mexico and I don't think Teo would stand up to those punches......Plus Foreman had a great chin...Teo was Ko'd several times by lighter hitting guys than the powerful Foreman....
