Quick Quiz no2 with little prize

Post by Mimmy »

Ok here is a little quick quiz and ive got a DVD here unopened, its called 'Risen' The life story of Howard Wistone. First person to get this question correctly in whole Ill send it to them. This way I get rid of some of my rubbish.

Ok.

Bantamweight boxer Steve Williams fought Noel Wilders back in 2000 for the British Bantamweight Title. Steve lost the fight by tko in the 11th round. He went on to win another 2 fights before quitting to join the fire service in Mansfield.

A few years earlier 14th October 1995 to be precise Steve won almost £10,000 (£9,9???). How did he win this money? I want the full reason how he won all this money. no half answered guesses, the person who gives me all and I mean all the details of the win, wins!

ok, ive let this run long enough. Here is the answer. Spudder56 and babybrooks were on the right lines.

Steve Williams or SD Williams was righly a jockey before pro boxer, he was a stablelad boxer too. Steve was a freelance jockey im not quite sure if he was a stable jockey however, he used to ride for the red shirted Jack Berry on occasions.

Steve was best friends of my cousin's husband who was also a jockey too (Chris Priest) I met him at their wedding some 20 years ago.

So back to the answer, well Steve rode Croft Pool for trainer Jeremy Glover at Newmarket on the 14th October 1995 and won just under £10k for owner Country Classics Ltd.

So no winner I have found another DVD too thats unopened, all these shite birthday prezzies that I get and don't open. I'll think about another quick quiz and up it
