The Silver Grid was a club on Huntress Row in Scarborough, people familiar with Scarborough will know its where the Pizza Hut is now. The old folks home was in Scalby Village again close to Scarborough.

He also ran The Futurist Theatre in Scarborough.

I phoned up a chippy in Houghton-Le-Spring to ask if an ex-boxer used to run it. Now I know why they said "eh?".
