Yeah but he's trying to get into another country. It's a different story.

Yeah "all steps". Apart from, you know, actually getting the visa issue sorted well in advance of the fight.

That said, the recent allegedly hook-up means that Towers might actually get some fights without having to travel now...

Mickey,
That's the point I was making with tongue in cheek. They got rid of the CEO who happens to be a very talented lawyer then cock ups like Murray and Towers happen.

Surprising time and time again how many thick and stupid people there are in boxing. With towers criminal past none of the clever sons thought there's no chance in he'll he gets a visa. It was the sane with Peter fury and America

It is clear that only an idiot would expect no problems trying to get a convicted criminal work in another country, my question is that boxing being the nature it is, are boxers discriminated against unfairly.

You can think of many many many naughty boys who have been able to work abroad, think of political leaders for example.

I think boxers are getting a raw deal, murray in the usa and now richard ........... if you have done the crime and the time then post bail or something for these boxers, or a security bond for a weekend visa or something, no? Thoughts?

Yep, the reason criminals usually aren't allowed in to various countries is the risk of reoffending, but what's the chance of a boxer committing a crime while in the country? The other question is, shouldn't Towers be arriving a bit earlier than 5 days before the fight?

It doses seem a bit late to be arriving in Oz before the biggest fight of your career. All very odd.

The rules are there for all to see.
If you have a conviction and serve more than 12 months they won't let you in.
Maybe an application was made, think its a 600, because it was in for the fight then home again and maybe the Aussie Immigration said let me think about it then said no at the last minute.
Strange one.

This is boofhead behaviour of the highest order. Surely the potential problem with a visa didn`t come as a surprise?

Browne would have to be favourite for this fight if it ever happens. Big Luc can dish out a dig and Towers is the kind of fighter that would put his chin in range.

It would be nice to see the Aussies win something for a change. They are getting done in most things these days, whichis nice to see. Apart from the Saffas, French, Kiwis, Italians, Icelandic, Turkish and finnish, I`ve never met a worse set of fans than the Aussies.

Another Jealous dickhead. Australia's the envy of the world because we don't tolerate illiterate morons - You're a testament to that.

Big Daddy Browne now has a genuine contest on his hand with Freight Train. Browne would have knocked Towers down, embarrassing him.

That`s a bit harsh Youngy. I don`t think Australia is the envy of the world. You find more young Aussies living in London these days than in Sydney. With the amount of shirt lifters over there it comes as no surprise.

I`ve been to Oz several times and I love the place, but nothing beats sticking one on the Aussies in sport. They are such cocky ponces.

My comments are harsh? Compared to the gutter-mouthed post from the idiot "TJ77" my comments are fairly mild.

I visited this thread to read about the Browne/Towers match up and read an insulting (barely legible) piece of crap about Australia.

There's a lot more families from England emigrating to Australia than the other way round......

Mind you I do love the UK, especially Scotland Ireland & Wales and if my wife agreed, I would move to Edinburgh tomorrow (for 2 to 5 years max. ).

Anway looking forward to seeing Big Daddy on the TV tomorrow night. I reckon this is a risky fight for him. The Freight Train is a far more formidable opponent than Towers would have been.
