I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
Anyone else think it will be a huge let down with channel 5 having a show on 14th September with Galahad v Dickens and Hughie Fury, Sheffield show on 21st September and Anthony Joshua headline on 5th October with the likes of Lee Selby, Ogogo, Mitchell and some other cracking fights. I can only see people like Callum Smith and other young guns knocking out journeyman and no real 50/50 fight on the bill.
Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
Its funny you started this thread considering you just pulled me up for criticising Hearn who also happens to be the co-promoter of the Haye vs Fury fight and thus involved in the undercard.WelshJack wrote:Anyone else think it will be a huge let down with channel 5 having a show on 14th September with Galahad v Dickens and Hughie Fury, Sheffield show on 21st September and Anthony Joshua headline on 5th October with the likes of Lee Selby, Ogogo, Mitchell and some other cracking fights. Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
A decent undercard would be a bonus. Personally, I just can't wait to see the main event when Haye puts Fury to sleep!
Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
Actually Eddie Hearn isn't the co-promoter Adam Booth and Mick Hennessey are the promoters sky will just use matchroom fighters that are available. I'm not criticising Hearn either because that O2 bill is stacked with great fights.columbo wrote:Its funny you started this thread considering you just pulled me up for criticising Hearn who also happens to be the co-promoter of the Haye vs Fury fight and thus involved in the undercard.WelshJack wrote:Anyone else think it will be a huge let down with channel 5 having a show on 14th September with Galahad v Dickens and Hughie Fury, Sheffield show on 21st September and Anthony Joshua headline on 5th October with the likes of Lee Selby, Ogogo, Mitchell and some other cracking fights. I'd like a few decent fights on the undercard, but I can't wait for Fury to give us a song when he wins TEAM FURYFinch wrote:A decent undercard would be a bonus. Personally, I just can't wait to see the main event when Haye puts Fury to sleep!

He is the co-promoter, he said so himself.WelshJack wrote:Actually Eddie Hearn isn't the co-promoter Adam Booth and Mick Hennessey are the promoters sky will just use matchroom fighters that are available. Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
He wasn't on the table at the press conference and the ticket says promoted by Adam Booth and Mick Hennessey, surely he would've taken Adam Smith's place at the table if he was promoting?
Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
Sheffield show isn't on the 21st anymore.

He got them the TV platform and will supply undercard fighters. This won't be a Matchroom promotion.columbo wrote: He is the co-promoter, he said so himself.
Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
He said in an interview with Kugan he was co-promoting. As others have said, to get on sky you have to go through matchroom.DMA1987 wrote:He got them the TV platform and will supply undercard fighters. This won't be a Matchroom promotion.columbo wrote: He is the co-promoter, he said so himself.

I sincerely hope it features the saxophone player from the Price -Thompson card
Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
But it isn't a Matchroom promotion, and whilst he will get a slice I doubt thoroughly that he gets that much. So why throw everything into that card, which isn't his, when he has actual Matchroom cards to promote. Not being funny, if he put his top boxers into that card then you would only be moaning about the lack of quality and depth in his others.columbo wrote:He said in an interview with Kugan he was co-promoting. So if he isnt involved in the promotion at all then why would he get any kind of slice? Why would he need to?
Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
For PPV that's pretty poor really, Quigg-Salinas is good and while Hughie's good to watch, he fights so regularly that if you miss the fight there'll be another available soon after, plus he'll only be in a 6 rounder anyway. The rest don't particularly interest me.jackukmma wrote:Sheffield show isn't on the 21st anymore.

Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
As i understand it, it's a joint promotion between Booth (Haymaker) and Mickey (Hennessey sports). Eddie is supplying the undercard as Mick and Adam can't. Mick probably could sort the majority but he's already committed some of his stable to a promotion already.
Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
Why couldnt Mick provide the undercard then? He's got a decent amount of fighters in his stable. The Insider wrote:As i understand it, it's a joint promotion between Booth (Haymaker) and Mickey (Hennessey sports). Don't forget Charr that could be interesting and PPV should show every single fight not just a few fights like Froch.expe wrote:For PPV that's pretty poor really, Quigg-Salinas is good and while Hughie's good to watch, he fights so regularly that if you miss the fight there'll be another available soon after, plus he'll only be in a 6 rounder anyway. Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
Why couldnt he of cancelled that and put his fighters on the undercard instead? The Insider wrote:Hasn't he got a show on a fortnight before?columbo wrote:Why couldnt Mick provide the undercard then? Re: I fear for Haye v Fury Undercard
The show has only just been announced and can Charr fight someone mediocre for that title and surely it will be someone that appeals to UK fans............I don't want to say it but YES HE CAN.
