Pickering v Hunter

Post by WildWaylon »

So Pickering was going on to bigger things and Hunter could come again, that was the pre fight comment by Pickering - In rounds 1 and 2 it looked as though his predicted outcome might well be the case - Hunter said before the fight in his hometown the crowd would be behind him and he wanted to do his best to please them - He did that and a lot lot more by bravely turning the fight round and getting a very good win over Pickering who for a breif moment rejoiced hearing the words AND STILL - Of course what followed was THE BRITISH CHAMPION AND THE NEW ETC and Pickering was gutted - A return match is very likely but if I was Michael Hunter I would make Pickering wait a bit - Hunter has shot up in the ratings and could be looking at a world title match up next year - In my opinion he deserves the chance and one thing we do know he would give it his all - British boxing is so good at the moment with Stars and rising Stars and Hunter is a real credit to the sport

It's a bit nasty, but did anybody else chuckle when the ref lifted Pickerings hads at the end by accident?

Chuckle? I almost shit myself. Had my biggest bet of all-time on Hunter last week and was ringside when Picking and his camp jumped up. Suppose it added to the drama and had to be said really (as both were champs) but when the dust settled I felt sorry for Pickering. Won't ever forget what they did in there last week. And neither I suppose with Blue Square, Ladbrokes, Sky Bet and Stan James. Only stopped celebrating on Weds. Hunter still at it. Lookin for ward to the Boxing News tomorrow.

Pickering near dropped after that, it was cruel, I'm sure deep down he knew he did not get it and then his hand was raised and bang!

Must admit, I did laugh   :TU:

Confidence and arrogance are two very different things - Pickerings attitude before the fight, I didnt like - Hunter on the other hand wanted the win without any doubt but said he wanted to do well for his many many supporters - He gave everything and deserved the win and now has even more fans because of the way he did it - Confidence v Arrogance was the way I saw the bout and I am so glad confidence plus determination won.
