Eddie is getting poo purely cos of his rhetoric over last few weeks on it. He should have just said we are waiting for kells mandatory situation to become clearer, so we're looking at another Jones level fighter to keep kell ticking over as he continues to recover from injury.
And this fight promotes itself now and should earn kell some £££
Couldnt agree more .... I do really like Kell but i am starting to get impatient and as you said the rhetoric by Eddie was very misleading and just adds to the frustration of Brooks lack lustre career opponents.
Rubbish fight Senchenko was getting beaten for the first 5 rounds by a Ricky Hatton who didn't fight for three and a half years. Malignaggi stopped him.

It is hardly a joke of a fight. It is just disappointing compared to some of the names we might have expected. The main mistake Eddie has made is using the words 'massive' and 'huge' when it isn't warranted. But then again we don't know who he has spoken with and what the reasons are.
Again, I love how you continually bash Hearn and pull him on on his 'talking poo', but let the others pass because 'it's expected'.
Because it's bullshit mate. You continously defend Hearn at every opportunity! Do you defend FW at every opportunity? No you dont. Im not saying FW is great either but Chisora vs Scott was a good fight and so is Cleverly vs Kovalev. Hearn has been saying for ages that Brook is going to be in a big fight and he said the fight coming up was going to be against a top opponent! Senchenko is not a 'big' fight.
Chill pal; you're getting your knickers in a twist over what? Friday night, have a good time while you're young and tell us about it tomorrow

I think that most people don't see what the fuss is about to be honest. But columbo's been on the warpath for a while with regards Kell Brook now and until he gets his title shot that won't change.

He won't tell us about it. I'll wager if he does go out drinking tonight there will be a thread from him in the Off topic forum called 'anyone ever been buggered by a black transsexual?'

Very good fight career-wise for Kell. A win over Senchenko will give a top 15 (maybe higher) ranking with the WBC and WBA - something which he doesn't have currently, this would mean he'd be ranked in the top 15 by all 4 governing bodies and HOPEFULLY open up a few more doors for him. Also, the Senchenko name will appeal to the more casual fan given he's the man who ended Hattons career (I expect this to be mentioned repeatedly during the build up) and will hopefully increase Kells fanbase which will lead to more ticket sales, make him a bigger star etc.
Having said that, I also agree that Senchenkos record is somewhat padded, but I can overlook that given the above.

Senchenko, whilst not an elite 147lb-er, is a solid pro. Probably not at the same level as other recent world champions given the way he won it but at the same time he's relatively durable, technically pretty good and does represent a step up in opponent for Kell. A win over Senchenko probably gets him in the world title mix fairly soon, even a possibility of a Mayweather fight if he really does want to fight in Britain.
I think at this stage it would be a bit too much of a jump up for Kell to face the likes of Guerrero, especially coming off a long lay-off.
The most sense anyone has said on the matter.
Just because he isn't getting thrown in with the elite does not make this a crap fight. It's a step up, it's sellable and from a Brook perspective, it's winnable. Eddie Hearn & Kell Brook seem to get a lot of stick on here regardless of what they do, but as far as I'm concerned this is by no means a bad match up.
