Any time that I hear that someone has taken their own life for what ever reason really chokes me up. I'm so upset. Such a shame he didn't reach out to talk to anyone before. God bless you Bill

I used to have a pre fight snout with billy.who the fornicate am I gonna smoke with now.haha.never really knew earn but billy was a cracking lad.we shared quite a few laughs.always had a craic about when we done a feature on sky & he was covered in love bites.looked like he'd been to a vampire convention

In the UK suicide is a massive problem, especially among young men.

What is the reason for this?
I used to think that UK is great place to live. It is obiviously not if suicide is a big problem but I struggle to understand why?

The mind is a extremely complex thing, on the outside and to everyone around you and that may know you, it may seem you have everything going for you and seem to be lucky or have a great life, easy going etc, but people have there own inner struggles and demons, and has this very true saying goes:

If you haven't got piece of mind then you haven't got nothing.

I've known at least 10 people quite well in last 5 years who have killed themselves ... Very sad, feel for the families

Tris Dixon is going to do a documentary in the next few months on this very subject.

Boxing has no grey areas, you are a winner or you are a loser. No matter how much support and encouragement you get from friends & colleagues a boxer knows this in his heart.

Also unlike a lot of sports Boxing can be a very lonely regime. Especially with Billy travelling all over the country regularly into the other lads back yard. A lot of time to stew and dwell on things.
He was up in the North East for a show a couple of months ago and was unusually subdued but I don't think anyone guessed he was having such a hard time. I think any documentary that highlights depresssion amongst pro boxing and helps to bring it out in the open can only be a good thing for the sport.

why did he stop before he surpassed his bro? I don't think he intended to surpass his brother tbh. I wonder if it's something he'd been thinking about for a while.
My thoughts are that losing his brother (I didn't realise they were twins) is something that required ongoing support, maybe medical support. Maybe he didn't see the point- or didn't want to/ couldn't carry on without his bro who had been there all his life.
It's real sad because I think he had a Mrs and a child.
