Depends what other fights are on the same night, if there's a big fight in the US he won't.

Nothing against Michael Buffer, but does it really matter? The guy is a legend, but at the end of the day his bit is over in five minutes, and doesn't really add or detract from the fight itself.

Having Michael Buffer there gives it that big fight feeling.

True, but it's a lot of money to pay for the big fight feeling! Both fights are big enough already, just get John McDonald to do it

No, I know what you mean. He certainly adds something to the show.

But can you seriously say you won't watch if Michael Buffer is not there? He may add to the show, but he isn't the show himself. The fight is the important thing. His presence is just a bonus.

Knowing Eddie's penchant for poaching talent from the FW stable, it can only be a matter of time until he announces he is going to make an announcement, and then reveals he has finally landed the big fish...

....once he has Mark "bev and kev" Burdis on his books he'll never need Buffer again.

It doesn't matter really, but I would love to be at an event where he announces the fight.

It's great for about 5 seconds, and that's it.

He comes out just before the main event and does his bit; everyone joins in with 'Let's get ready to rumble' and that's it!

It was better at Hatton/Lazcano than Froch/Kessler as Hatton was stood next to him in the ring when he announced his name as the winner and was egging the crowd on; he got a bit drowned out by the pyrotechnics at the end of Froch/Kessler!

I definitely prefer a big fight to be announced by Buffer or Lennon Jr. I cannot stand the guy Matchroom use!

Do you get a discounted price if he does a 'Dazzling Darren Baker'?

Buffer may be expensive but this will get a lot of PPV buys and there isn't any other big fights set for this date I can think of anyway, so it has to be done.

I couldn't care less who announces the fights. Lisa Tarbuck can do it as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't been to a fight where Buffer has announced and surely it is something you have to hear live.

Buffer and Jimmy Lennon Jnr are still the main men for the big fights in my opinion!

I know what some people have said about the MC not mattering, and whilst a good mc can't make a bad show good a poor one can really bring one down! Also, a good mc does improve a show as he sets the tone with the crowd. Whoever does MC Haye v Fury and Froch v Groves they are massive fights and I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric!

Having Buffer makes the occasion. We know the fight is special if he is the ring announcer. OK, we knew that anyway but somehow his presence endorses how big the fight is.
