Quigg's been fairly inactive recently and he has dropped down the rankings. Quigg's last opponent was weak, so he didn't move up very much after that fight.

He was schooled by a Puerto Rican novice, has dodged the best fighter in the division (3 times at least), won't fight away from home, and his resume is fighters who are either has beens or never have beens.

Froch is a stand out elite fighter, can't say the same about the rest of the top 10 - there is a chasm between Froch and Burns in P4P terms; its like comparing Man U with Cardiff!
So who should be above him then? Haye, who fights once a year at best? Martin Murray, who has come up short twice at world level? Khan, who was taken out by the last world class fighter he faced and was dropped by Diaz, who was past his best and a natural lightweight? Gonzalez was far better than anyone thought he was and Burns still won. He is the best fighter in the division, how can he dodge himself? Why fight away from home when he can pull at least 7,000 in for a fight in Glasgow? Was Martinez a has been? Katsidis - Yes, past his best, but still a dangerous top class fighter. Moses - Former world champion, went to Japan to take the title. Mitchell - Took John Murray, who was the unbeaten European champion apart in 8 rounds. Looks a pretty decent record to me, especially when you add in that he's unbeaten in 6 years.

BTW, Froch isn't an elite fighter. Elite fighters are the likes of Mayweather, Ward, Marquez, Pacquiao, Rigondeaux and Martinez. Froch has fought at that level and fallen well short.
Haye was an undisputed Cruiserweight champ who didn't need to step up in weight; he still would be the man at that weight if he fought there.

Murray went to Germany, got a draw and Argentina and lost narrowly with a 10-8 round not scored in his favour.

Khan has fought better fighters than Burns has - of that there is no doubt. Khan has tried to go against the best at every opportunity, the fighters he has lost to are much better than anyone Burns has fought.

How can he dodge himself? You're deluded mate he's pants. He's well protected fighting up here Gonzalez didn't even report his injury to the BBoFC and it was a "strange" stoppage in boxing terms.

There was no Martinez rematch because we know what would've happened. That's bad management. He went to fight those ATGs like Evensen and Lareya. Moses is past it, Katsidis - past it, Cook, Mitchell never were world challengers anyways.

He's a well protected man especially given the Broner stuff, and even the Vazquez thing was a cop-out; I don't see them chasing him for a fight soon.

He wants the top fights and the respect, but he doesn't want to fight the top names, just wants to name drop when selling his next "big" fight to his loyal minions.
Haye hasn't fought at Cruiserweight for 5 years, how can he be judged based on that? He hasn't beat a world class heavyweight for 3 years, if Ruiz could really be seen as world class and Valuev wasn't the greatest boxer ever, he simply traded on the fact he was so damn big.

While it could be argued that Murray deserved to get both decisions, ultimately he came up short.

How can a defeat move you up in any legitimate rankings? Khan hasn't beaten a world class fighter for 2 years.

Gonzalez didn't report the injury because there wasn't one, he was just looking for a way out because he had given it everything and Burns was still standing in front of him.

Why should he give Martinez a rematch? He beat him, there was nothing controversial about the decision. If he fought him again I think he'd make a far better job of it. Moses was a former world champion and the only defeat on his record was at world level. Cook was a former world champion whose back was in pieces, although he did pass his medical. Mitchell was European to fringe world level as the Murray fight proved.

What fighter would take a unification fight, away from home, at 7 weeks notice? Only a complete plank would take that. The Vazquez fight wasn't signed, then it was, but by then he'd had enough of Warren and cut all ties with him.

I really hope Billy Nelson finds this thread, if he does, I'll get the popcorn, because it'll be one to just sit back and watch as things unfold.

He was unbeaten, but fairly untested. It wasn't a world level win.

Quigg's best wins are against Munroe and Arthur. His record isn't packed and he has been fairly inactive recently. I think his current ranking is fair.

Saunders has been facing too many light middleweights. Ryder is an okay next opponent, but I think McEwan or Hope would be better.

I'm meant to leave my personal opinion out of my P4P rankings?

What is the justification behind Haye being ranked at number 3? The only win he has had in nearly 3 years was against Chisora who equally hasn't won a propoer fight for years (excluding Malik Scott).

Note: Haye is probably my favourite 'active' fighter but looking at the hard facts, a KO win against an ordinary fighter (arguably a gatekeeper) is a weak argument.

Chisora is a top 10 fighter in the division and Haye beat him better than Vitali and Fury did.

Haye has managed to stay so high in the rankings mostly because of his previous achievements and other British fighters not doing enough to overtake him.

If he beats Fury next month then I think that is enough to secure his top 3 position for a while longer, if he loses then he can drop down.

I agree, who exactly would you have above burns at the moment? (aside from Froch obviously)
