Props to Kell Brook
Props to Kell Brook
People criticise me for criticising him but ive just been annoyed with the level of opposition upto now. Anyway going on this article he deserves some credit so

Re: Props to Kell Brook
Brook is boring. Jones is not a great opponent.
Why are you bowing to Brook?

Re: Props to Kell Brook
Because whilst Jones's isnt the best in the division he still beat Soto-karass who has just knocked out Berto. Also he was pretty much dominating the fight against Bailey before he switched off and got hit with one of Baileys missiles. He's a decent fighter.Horse wrote:Brook is boring. Great stuff Brook, well done (not really).

Columbo props to you for addressing the balance it is the key to honest debate
If I had posted this im a fan boy but if your prepared to represent both sides of the argument in this way fairplay to you.
Horse change the record it is you that is boring.
Take a day off and lets see what plays out its all to be proved if Senchenko was the back up to Jones that does change things only slightly but it does.

Re: Props to Kell Brook
To be fair ive never doubted Brook's talent. I think he's a very intelligent boxer and very good counter puncher. It's just the opposition ive had an issue with. As a boxing fan as you'll know yourself you want to see the best fight the best and what have you otherwise it gets too boring and predictable.TJ77 wrote:Columbo props to you for addressing the balance it is the key to honest debate![]()

So in conclusion Columbo, its the Promotors you are critical of.
Fighters can only fight who's put in front of them.

I don't think that's accurate.
Terms and conditions plus money cause fights to be turned down.

What so you're saying that fighters dont ever turn down fights based on them not really fancying their chances?Parson Cross wrote:I don't think that's accurate.

Re: Props to Kell Brook
If we are talking championship level fighters, in all my years I cannot give you one example of a fighter blatently saying - no way will I take that fight no matter what - if everything else is right ie the terms and conditions, options, money.

Re: Props to Kell Brook
You then get the reverse psychology when fighters say - I want to fight him, but he doesn't want to know - when the truth is there's a pittance being offered, or the options etc just don't come up to scratch.
Risk and reward.
Risk and reward.
Re: Props to Kell Brook
The reason I asked that is FW reckons he offered the fight with Jones twice and Kell or his dad turned it down and also he apparantly turned down an offer from Tim Bradley when he was with Hearn.Parson Cross wrote:You then get the reverse psychology when fighters say - I want to fight him, but he doesn't want to know - when the truth is there's a pittance being offered, or the options etc just don't come up to scratch.

Re: Props to Kell Brook
I cannot confirm or deny that.
However if it is true I would bet my house that Brook did not turn these fights down for fighting reasons it will have been exactly for the reasons expressed before.
Shit money, shit terms.
FW is an amazing Promotor.
Whenever a fighter leaves his set up it is amazing how much work he's put in, how many fights the fighter has turned down.
Yeah right ........

Re: Props to Kell Brook
This Jones thing is incorrect anyway's someone asked Eddie this on twitter and he said they hadn't approached Mike Jones for a fight.
Seems as though he is having a rough time with his Promoter who said he turned down this fight.
I remember FW was trying to make the K9 fight with Kell years ago aswell.
I know that Kell would fight anyone in the UK or US (Bradley fight, rubbish money, multiple options and to get a mandatory position he was advised right in my opinion
