Suggestions for boxing entertainment during the break
Suggestions for boxing entertainment during the break
Not sure about you but I am not looking forward to the summer break between seasons.
There are a few fighters I will be keeping an eye on their prep for fights coming up in Sept/Oct im looking forward to via twitter and on here.
But this will not satisfy me it seems the season ends in a bit of a flurry that leaves me wanting more then disappears for a month or so leaving me at a bit of a loose end.(sad act that I am)
The forums go a bit flat as the action is not there to be spoken about I don't have enough cash to go Columbia or Jamaica till this period passes.
Several interesting posts and conversations with old guys at work lately have thrown up names that have shown me I have massive gaps in my boxing knowledge. (not easy to admit that on here )
I am looking to fill some of these gaps over the summer be it through youtube documentarys tv shows interviews biography or books etc mainly on the internet though.
Plus would like to find out any interesting facts about boxers trainers promoters that are abit out there.
And I would welcome any suggestions people may have of fighters stories I can look up or great fights that are a bit more obscure.
I have not highlighted what the gaps are for fear of ridicule like I said just want to expand my knowledge and there are people with a wealth of it .
Thankyou
TJ

Point being trying to brush up on key aspects of boxing history.

Re: Suggestions for boxing entertainment during the break
The off season hasn't happened so much this year. As others have said some decent fights rest of month and then its a couple of weeks after that the Floyd build up and fight will kick off and then the biggest UK heavyweight fight for years.
In fairness there are often gaps of 3 or 4 weeks between "big fights" during the so-called season anyway.

Your spoilt for choice in September! Leeds, Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster etc. Get yourself along to small hall shows. Steffys show looks a corker and there's a couple on Manchester if your prepared to travel a bit.TJ77 wrote:Im in Leeds .The Insider wrote:What area are you from TJ?
