Not a thread I wish to start: Ali's ailing health

Newspaper reports on Friday suggested Ali's health may be in decline.

I really hope they are wrong, however I hate seeing Ali these days. Parkinson's is a terrible disease, and really demeaning to an athlete as Ali. Ali is still no age at all, and really hope that he remains alive and 'well' without the disease causing him unnecesary pain or degredation. Fingers crossed for "the greatest."

I think he's due to be watching his daughter on the Ruiz Valuev card next month.

Former world heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali is in good health despite reports questioning his condition.
Newspapers on Friday quoted an unnamed family friend as saying that Ali, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease, "may only have months to live."

But Ali's marketing agent Harlan Werner told BBC Sport: "Muhammad is fine and he has numerous appearances lined up.

"He had surgery on his back and was in therapy for that, but that had nothing to do with Parkinson's. He is fine."

Ali won the world heavyweight title three times in a brilliant career that saw him lauded as "the greatest".

Werner said: "It is disrespectful to Muhammad to suggest that he would not tell the truth about his health.

"Of all the people in the public eye, Muhammad Ali has always told the truth."

Ali was named Sportsman of the Century by BBC television viewers in 1999 and received a similar award from US magazine Sports Illustrated.

Really hope the Big guy is ok, as there seems to be a few conflicting reports doing the rounds at the moment.
