Steve Gee (Egege)
I remember this boxer years ago and no matter where I look never had any info of him at all. I recently found his fight with Corrie Sanders on Youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MefqNn9OIcA
He was a Brummy, and I was introduced to him at a fight where he was warming up ready to fight Paul Lister.
Anyone heard of Gee? and more to the point any info at all?

Which British heavyweight retired with a record 37 and 1. I bet without looking on google you would have a hard time finding the answer in your head right but put in the question into googles brain bank
http://www.google.co.uk/#bav=on.2,or.r_ ... d+37+and+1
3rd line down
Its really hard getting questions that arent on Google. This is why personal expericances are the best questions to ask

I seem to remember Steve Gee being stopped by a 800lb but at that point very young and capable Garing Lane. Lane, while losing, in his early days gave the likes of Bowe, Berbick, Snipes et al a torrid time.

Its strange that you can find anything on the internet, facebook twitter etc. But ive delved deep into the net and absolutely nothing comes up. They guy is still alive and around 51 now I would imagine. There has to be something somewhere. I'm like a dog with a bone on
Re: Steve Gee (Egege)
Remember seeing him fight a guy called Keith Ferdinand and losing on points, by that time he was a spoiler really. Ferdinand was reckoned to have been a prospect and was a decent amateur but he had one loss and then just drifted away.
Re: Steve Gee (Egege)
Garing Lane was Lennox's sparring partner for 1st McCall fight!!!!!!!!!
Re: Steve Gee (Egege)
i think i had a pint with him about 10 years ago if it's the same guy he's around the croydon /bromley area .
i was in my local when someone said that's stevie gee the boxer he looked like the fighter from the tape but bald .
i had a few beers with him and he was a very funny cocky guy .he became a bit of a local for a view weeks then he got wacked around the head with something by one of the local wannabe gangstars and i never see him again . i never knew he boxed the level of fighter that he did i just thought he was some bloke pretending to be better than he was but i was wrong

Re: Steve Gee (Egege)
Thats right, i went up to Newcastle with a heavyweight called Mick Cawdon, he was trained by John Rushton, Cawdon was supposed to be fighting Gee on the undercard of Westgarth v Garside. We got there and it turned out to be a lack of communication as Gee fought Lister. Mick just got pissed up!funso banjo baby wrote:certainly remember the name, he was around with the likes of lister, martin nee, Garside, westgarth etc early 80"s. never saw him fight
