IBF
Just seen on Jamie mcdonnells twitter he's still yet to receive the proper title 3months after winning it disgraceful display in my eyes when a fighter wins a title he should get the belt straight after the fight

Re: IBF
The IBF balls up and gave him the Intercontinetal belt after the fight. I don't even think he realised until people started pointing it out.
Re: IBF
Thats pretty naff, he's fought his heart out and now awaits the title three months later ?dhb-raging bull wrote:Just seen on Jamie mcdonnells twitter he's still yet to receive the proper title 3months after winning it disgraceful display in my eyes when a fighter wins a title he should get the belt straight after the fight

They will want paying for it ! Has the Promotor stumped up ? Sure Denis will have taken care of business. Gone through a similar thing with the WBC. Ryan beat Vuma but Vuma wouldn't hand the belt over ! Had to wait a while for that to turn up

Im not even interested in rising to this Horse. You're the best poster on here, your ratings are the best I've ever seen and I bow to your supremacy

Re: IBF
Am sure they hand the belt over immediately after the fight and the new champion is presented with it then after that its returned to ex champion and a new one produced for the new champion .
Re: IBF
You don't think Vuma should have been allowed to keep the belt that he won? The WBC are meant to give a new champion their own belt, not take the belt from the old champion.Parson Cross wrote:Im not even interested in rising to this Horse. Do you really not know that?

Re: IBF
Never said Vuma didn't deserve a belt. Just relayed the facts. There wasn't a belt for Rhodes. The point I was making was that the IBF aren't the only ones to get things wrong.
Re: IBF
Since champions get to keep their belt(s) indefinitely, which I think is deserved, if they retain them in a fight the construction of a belt would be paid for when it need not be.dhb-raging bull wrote:Just seen on Jamie mcdonnells twitter he's still yet to receive the proper title 3months after winning it disgraceful display in my eyes when a fighter wins a title he should get the belt straight after the fight
The belt may be used later, but I understand why sanctioning bodies wouldn't want to accumulate unawarded belts (which may increase the probability of damage or theft) or pay when they don't have to.
Re: IBF
the belt thats there on the night is the defending champions,i remember nigel benn getting beat in newcastle by sugar boy malinga and nigel saying to malinga "you just remember to give me my belt back before you leave the arena" or somethin along them lineseddiebutcher wrote:Am sure they hand the belt over immediately after the fight and the new champion is presented with it then after that its returned to ex champion and a new one produced for the new champion .
Re: IBF
Yeah deffo not right that their should be something in the contract giving a deadline for receiving the belt.dhb-raging bull wrote:Just seen on Jamie mcdonnells twitter he's still yet to receive the proper title 3months after winning it disgraceful display in my eyes when a fighter wins a title he should get the belt straight after the fight
Cant really understand why he hasn't got it,will have taken a bit of the shine off a hard earned victory should be the time of his life.
Re: IBF
yep thats right, thats why they say the lonsdale is the hardest belt to win cause you have to defend it 3 times before you get to keep, all others belts you could win and get best on your first defence but still keep the belt.banjo wrote:Hang on so the belt that they win isn't the one they beat the champion for but a newly made up one so that the "defeated" champion can keep the belt he lost?
That'd be like making a new FA Cup every year.
Re: IBF
It just shows us doesn't it . The IBF officials can travel first class from wherever, get transport from the airport to their 5 star hotels, meet and have lunch to discuss the rules, get chauffeur driven to the venue and get paid subsistence for their efforts ,collect the sanctioning fees etc etc etc BUT CAN'T THINK THAT THEY MIGHT NEED A NEW BELT !!! Why?? Because the boxers don't matter enough !!!

Re: IBF
Fast eddie,
You also have to hand the Lonsdale back straight after the photos as well these days until you've won it outright.

Re: IBF
bad init,it should be you win a belt you keep it simple as then if you lose it the organisation has a replica in the arena with them at all times.Parson Cross wrote:Fast eddie,
