Tony sims

Post by stevieb_8006 »

I was just after a bit of history on the bloke now matchroom has basically made him their in house trainer. Who did he make his name training? Has he ever trained a world champ? Will he be a good match for Joshua, Mitchell etc?

Yea have worked with Tony Simms in the past and very good knowledge of the sports & biz. He used to train with Paul Scrap Iron Ryan when at his peak & Paul Lloyd towards the end of his career too. Good luck to Tony & his team with Darren Barker at the weekend, & Barker will be his first World Champion....

As far as Joshua going to Sims as well as the Matchroom connection there's aslo the fact that Barker also boxed for Finchley as an Am.

Ha funny typo on far/fart by me.

I'm pretty sure Barker started out at Finchley, always got the impression he was friendly with Spencer Oliver through that.

Tony Simms is a great bloke & he has been involved in the world of British Boxing for many years. He also puts on great shows at The Prince Regent Hotel. I wish him every success for the future.
