Alot of the Thai boxers move into 10 rounders from the off, as they have alot of Muay Thai fight already.
And its not uncommon for them to be fighting for world titles in under 10 fights.
Muangchai Kittikasem , won world title in his 7th fight

Saensak Muangsurin , won a world title in his 3rd fight!

I think Lomachenko is going to get avoided like the plague.. He would win a world title in his first fight he is out of this world.. One of the best fighters that I have ever seen. I heard he was fighting at Feather for just a few fights to win the title then move up fast. In my opinion he will beat anyone at Feather.. super feather and lightweight now also can't see anyone at light welter so I think after 10-15 fights he could be a 4 weight champion.. I for one can't wait to see him getting in amongst the best in each division

Boxing is unquely odd... fighter go from fighting the best in the world (ie Haye would fight Solis as an amaetuer etc) to fighting bums to build up fighting the likes of the people they faught as amatuerslillywhite14 wrote:Yep. Fighters of his calibre and amateur experience don't really need too much of a pro apprenticeship anyway. Chuck in the WSB fights and he is more than ready to achieve what he wants to.reggaereggae wrote:Lomachenko has also had 6 WSB fights I think. Those are like pro fights but with a much better quality opponent compared to most pros first 15 fights

Skills wise many of the top amateur boxers are like fencers - very quick eye and in and out. The pro world is rougher, the bouts longer and other aspects such as mental strength, physical strength and toughness come into play. I'd far sooner watch top pros box than amateurs.

Il think he will fight against Gamalier Rodriguez for WBO NABO title, Kamil Laszczyk for WBO Inter-Continental title, and finally WBO world champion (probably Orlando Salido) ...

I thought I saw Mikey Garcia knock Salido about and take his title?

Just happy he's turned over at the moment. What a fighter! I was priviledged to get to see him in person in London 2012. I fancy him for his 3rd fight, but would prefer to re-evaluate after the frst two.

never heard of the guy but he sounds good. If the Cuban could do something similar, why can't this one?
Where's Toshiaka Nishioko, the guy that beat Munroe? Is he no longer a champ/ active?

Some people don't follow amateur boxing, I'd struggle to name 5 amateur fighters outside of this country and the fighters I know here are mainly down to them being hyped up by the media post Olympics.palooka wrote:NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:never heard of the guy but he sounds good. Lomachenko cannot fight for a world title in his 3rd fight because there are rankings and eliminators and protocol and as you all well know they are never broken ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

I don't follow the sport as closely as I did 10 or 5 years ago. My WH Smith no longer even stocks any boxing mags any more, which is odd considering what they do sell.palooka wrote:NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:never heard of the guy but he sounds good. I don't even know if amateur boxing is even watchable unless you go to the shows.
I am a geek tho I'll put my hands up to that one. I might miss plenty but what I catch I remember

If he's beats the number one contender then he becomes the mandatory, right?handsofstone wrote:Lomachenko cannot fight for a world title in his 3rd fight because there are rankings and eliminators and protocol and as you all well know they are never broken

Ha think there was a hint of sarcasm about how corrupt boxing is!! At the end of the day money talks Lomachenko is probably one of the biggest amateur stars ever if not the biggest. I watched him fight recently on the WSB how easily he won was scary.. Imagine the box office Rigondeaux v Lomachenko at featherweight.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko wants a world title in his 3rd pro fight !
No doubt, but I'm just pointing out that he could still get a legitimate shot. Personally, I'm happy with amateur standouts being fast-tracked to a World title.daviddee wrote:Ha think there was a hint of sarcasm about how corrupt boxing is!!
