Andy Lee opponent for Haye-fury undercard

Post by lefty »

According to Dan Rafael it's looking like Domenico Spada. Not the most inspiring opponent in my eyes but could be wrong. I wish they could try and make that Lee vs Macklin matchup now!

Macklin has mentioned the possibility of fighting Lee in New York around St Patrick's Day. Hopefully Macklin can get a fight I between now and then, he's been far too inactive in the last few years.

Sooner or later there won't be 4, while Macklin's been inactive, there's a lot of miles on the clock and if Barker loses to Geale it's the end of the road for him IMO.

Then hopefully Saunders and Ryder can step into the breach

Hopefully, but only 1 will unless the fight is close, which I don't think it will be. I do think we might see Saunders-Murray in a couple of years though.

Its not an awfully bad opponent, though Spada is definitely on the downgrade. I like Andy Lee too, be a good yardstick against Barker this fight.

I like Lee's style and being left handed myself I enjoy watching him box. Hopefully Lee and Barker can fight aswell if Barker pulls it off against Geale.

I suppose that makes more sense to be fair.

Spada could beat Lee, if he fights anything like he did at the Odyssey that time.

I think we will see at least one fight between a combination of the four of them; but it'll come when each of their various attempts at a world title have been exhausted and they take the fight to make a little bit more money for their retirement. It's a shame we couldn't see them at the top of their games as there doesn't need to be a world title at stake to drum up interest

Im still interested in seeing those fights without world titles on the line to be fair.
