Spencer had more natural tools in the tool box but Mildenberger was always in great shape, had a lot of grit, and was great at slowing a fight down to a pace that suited his ability to steal rounds. Since Spencer could come into fights undertained and unfocused Mildenberger might be the safe bet. Spencer would have to be at his best to beat Mildenberger, I dont think Mildenberger would. That might be the difference.

Thad Spencer of the Ernie Terrell would beat Mildenberger, but all other versions of Spencer would loose on points. (Or by late stoppage if Thad was in very poor condition like in the Billy Walker fight)

Up to the Jerry Quarry bout in 1968, Thad had only been hammered in one fight, and that
was in his first bout with Amos Lincoln 1964.

And he only had been dropped 'twice' in his career {versus Billy Daniels II}, and suffering
a 'Flash Knockdown' against Ernie Terrell.

Thad had a solid-chin, but was susceptible to eye cuts.

But he proved he was tough against Jerry Quarry, after getting floored and hurt several times,
he kept moving forward until getting TKO'd on his feet in Round 12.

The bout with Leotis Martin took everything out of him, and he was 'cooked' after that.

Could be called the 'West-Coast' Uncrowned Heavyweight Champion in 1966/1967.

Think we can take that Il Duce that you concede to the fact that Spencer was not the Uncrowned World Champion.

Like I said, I wouldnt give Spencer any better chance than 50/50 against Mildenberger. Same with Cooper and Chuvalo, in fact given their styles I might favor both by KO. Thad can criticise all he wants (and by extension you) but the fact remains his record isnt any better than any of those other guys. You could easily apply all of your backwards hate to them as well and talk about how they were uncrowned champions as well.

Now, back to the question at hand: What the hell is the west coast uncrowned champion. Is that something less than just the uncrowned champion that he was a couple days ago.

Oh he was the Sacramento Bee Uncrowned West Coast Heavyweight Champion. That clears it up.
