why wasn't this fight made back in the day?

I'd also go with Mosley, as he would do a little better than what Oscar did

Tito moved up right after DLH. Then, after Vargas, Tito signed up for the middle tourney. We all know what happened there, and Tito never fought below middle again, and Shane hasn't fought above jr. middle.

I have no doubt this one would be a good fight, but I just can't see it any other way but a win for Shane. Everytime I imagine the fight in my head, I see Shane winning it.

I doubt it very much that Tito stops him. Shane was never all that vulnerable to left hooks and of course that's Tito's bread and butter punch...other than that I just think Shane's speed and athleticism give him the edge in the bout.

He wasn't the puncher Tito was, but he'd hit hard enough to get Tito's respect I have no doubt.

Why do you think Tito takes it?

Shane brawls. He doesn't consistently box. I think he'd wind up brawling with Tito and this would likely be as a result of his getting the better of it early with a KD as often happened.
But then as also often happened Tito would come to life and land bombs--quite a few of them. I think Mosley would wind up getting beaten up late like Forrest did, though Tito hit harder than Vernon.

Vernon was also a slicker, more technically skilled guy than Tito too though. The uppercut that started all the trouble for Shane in Round 2 of their first fight. I don't see Tito landing that particular shot, and I just don't think he had the style to be as effective against Shane as Forrest was.

That being said, I'd pick Tito to beat Forrest...but, ya know the old saying styles make fights. Unfortunately we'll never know for sure who would win this one. Real shame too, I would've loved to have seen these guys fight.

I'd also pick Tito over Forrest--and Quartey. They missed each other by less than a year. Tito understandably moved up for bigger fights after he beat Oscar, and Shane obviously needed to grow into WW for a few fights. Too bad. I think Tito would land a lot of hooks and uppercuts; Shane's fighting instinct would get him in trouble here after a good early going.

Id have to favor Trinidad by the narrowest of margins. Shane was a fighter, he liked to mix it up and wasn't a great boxer mover. I see this fight turning into a brawl and Trinidad getting the best of it.

They were hardly in the same weightclass at the same time. Tito was already a big 154 when Mosley jumped from 135 to 147 and Tito retired once Shane was at 154.
