Povetkin KO 3 (most nights)

If Alex Stewart was particularly motivated he would be able to make a good fight of it. I still think Povetkin would take a decision or stop him late even then.

Povetkin on points (not that confident about this, as I don't know what would happen if Alex landed some bombs). The guys who stopped prime Stewart hit harder than Povetkin.

I know that, but it wasn't too hard to convince Stewart to just give up. A lot of the knockdowns he suffered in the Foreman bout looked like he just went down not to get hit.

He basically had no heart until he hung around for a few rounds and started to get a little confidence in himself.

George was another big puncher, though. And Stewart survived that.

No doubt he was a big puncher, but watch the knockdowns again. Several of them were not knockdown inducing blows, Stewart wasn't sure if he wanted to quit or not is the way I took it. Once he realized Big George was older and slower than he thought he got confident and made a fight of it.

I don't doubt he could do that against Povetkin as well, but I think Stewart had a lot of dog in him.

Foreman was quite intimidating. Povetkin isn't.

I agree with that. I just think Povetkin is the better, more skilled fighter. This fight could be drastically different, depending on which Stewart shows up.

The only guy who took prime Stewart out in 3 or fewer was Tyson. Holyfield, Moorer and Foreman couldn't do that. And most Povetkin fights (aside from shot Rahman) are longer also.

Well whatever I'd still favor Povetkin by KO even if happened later in the bout. If Stewart was at his best he'd be able to hold Povetkin to a close fight.

You are placing way too much on the Tyson fight. Vs Holyfield, Foreman, Moorer, Sellers (coming back from several knockdowns) Alex showed tons of heart. And all of those guys are bigger punchers than Povetkin.

I would favor Povetkin by decision but that was because he would be the quicker, better schooled fighter with the higher workrate. But Stewart would probably have his moments.
