I scored it 114-113 to Barker. My card was pretty much the same as Jim Watts I think except I had Barker down 2-1 after the first 3 instead of 3-0 like Watt.

Didnt Watt have Barker winning nearly every round outside of the knockdown? Haha.

I watched it with my wife this morning. Exceptional fight, amazing heart showed by Darren and a deserved win; I had it by 3 to Barker.

I was nearly in tears when Buffer said "and new".

Personally I have no interest in seeing that match up.

Yeah I would prefer to see Barker fight Murray or Macklin. Golovkin would destroy him and just about every other middleweight around. Only someone exceptional will defeat GGG.

Interestingly, the judge who scored the bout 114-113 Barker gave him the final round, even though he was seemingly rocked multiple times and gotten the better of.

If that round goes to Geale the Aussie wins a SD.

fornicate getting in with GGG not much money in it at this stage I shouldn't imagine and he is a KO machine.
Would be a great catalyst to spark the British mid weight div to a bygone age.
But he needs to maximise his earnings after so many set backs so should go for a super fight states side asap.
Well done Dazzling Darren Barker you are why I love this sport Calzaghe esq performance in getting back up to win in style.
Proved your doubters without any of the bullshit a class sorry world class act

Quite happy for Barker to cash in with an easy defence or two then perhaps fight the British middleweights next year for some good pay days. Then if he is still standing cash in against Golovkin before calling it a day.

That would be the smart move. I doubt Eddie Hearn will be wanting him anywhere near GGG anytime soon.

Congratulations to Darren Barker. I am so pleased for him. What a lovely thing for him and his family to have. He has won the world championship, it doesn't get better than that in boxing. I remember sitting with his grandfather (a really ncie man) at Alexander Palace and enjoyed talking to him about his grandson. I can only imagine how delighted he is right now.

Brilliant performance, but got lucky with the judges as two gave him the last round

Made up for Barker. It was close call though and Geale deserves a rematch. No way did Barker win that last round though (if the reports are true)

Am also glad he became the first out of the British trio to get a title. Not so keen on Macklin who didn't want to drop down to Barker's level for a domestic dust up. :bag:
