Thought the whole panel were pretty good last night. You always get those moments where 2 or all 3 guys are trying to speak over each other but they are unavoidable. I thought Martin Murray was a good choice, he didn't come across like he was ever trying to put Barker down even tho he did pick Geale.

yeah ed is a ledge when it comes to knowledge of boxing.. i personally thought he carried himself well.. and the people are spot on when they said about a good panel very good... the only trouble was watt his scoring and speech just seems so far off the mark.. not as bad as mccrory mind... :)

Agree with all the above. Having an ex fighter as presenter makes such a difference. Hope Sky continue to use him in the anchor role, he seemed comfortable doing it.

Ed is great. Not a personal dig by any means but I bet Sky will be on to him to get his teeth done if he's looking for more air time.

He fought out of the Lodge, if I remember rightly. He had a short pro career too.
Ah ok I didnt know that! Cheers for that mate. He was also public school educated aswell right? Not something you see very often for professional boxers.

Ed is arguably one of the most knowledgeable people at sky (aside from bob mee perhaps) and he is undoubtedly the most passionate. He didn't fall into boxing on some broadcasting whim he clearly loves boxing and it shows. The respect he has got is always clearly demonstrated by fans and professionals alike. I' a big fan of him.

However, I still think he's growing into the role of presenter as opposed to reporter but its refreshing that he's not over the top and measured in what he says. I like his 'less is more' approach.

People probably forget that he does a lot of other stuff outside of presenting, he also writes toe 2 toe content and produces other pieces (barker special for example) - his workload must pretty insane as is all the guys at sky boxing I'm sure.

Hope he doesn't burn out because sky are leaning heavily on him.

I liked how they were bringing Andy Scott through too - perhaps he could take over ringside one day?

Martin Murray is a decent bloke. Him and barker get on well by all accounts, less so with Macklin if the ringside of a few months back is any evidence

Ed has the best knowledge/insight of boxing, way superior than anyone else on TV. But his delivery and presentation skills are stilted and deliberate. That is the drawback

Funny how both Ed and Andy both worked for Frank Maloney as press officers,
Ed boxed for Fitzroy Lodge, and was still boxing while working for FM, had a few fights as pro, while working for Sky,
