James Degale
James Degale
What's going on with him at the moment? He doesnt seem to have any kind of opponent lined up for the near future. There was some talk not that long ago of him leaving Hennessy and joining Top Rank. Arum had come out and said Degale was interested and he could be a potential opponent for Ward but that was before Ward lost his arbitration case against Goosen.
Re: James Degale
I think it's gone quiet until he can sort out a bigger fight really, I know the WBC belt has been fought for by someone else so he must have vacated it and with Groves fighting Froch next so he might be waiting to fight him (Groves) in a re-match if he loses afterwards or for the vacant commonwealth belt if he wins.
personally I'd rather see him fight Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye for the EBU title or re-match Paul Smith for the BBB of C British title to build his experience up that bit more before challenging any of the world champions

Re: James Degale
Why did he give up the European title?
Re: James Degale
He is fighting Zsolt Erdei at 168

Know when and what Titles?
Re: James Degale
I think he had to give up the European title to carry on defending the WBC silver according to one of the rules and regulations of one of them and if he's fighting Zsolt Erdei next that's a pretty good fight but its a big risk taking on someone who fought for the world titles at a bigger weight so hopefully will be a big win for him

Re: James Degale
I thought the WBC Silver title he held stood him in good stead to get a shot at full title,id give him a god chance against Sakio Bika providing he stuck to a game plan
Zsolt Erdei is a tough match also being a former LHW titlist

Re: James Degale
it'll be for one of the lesser ones like WBA/WBC/IBF international or inter-continental type titles, I really would like to know why he isn't the WBC silver anymore though ?Londonirish wrote:G0mez wrote:He is fighting Zsolt Erdei at 168

Re: James Degale
It didnt take Bellew long to get into mandatory position with the Silver belt
Re: James Degale
I think Bika would give Degale a right headache. Even now.handsofstone wrote:I thought the WBC Silver title he held stood him in good stead to get a shot at full title,id give him a god chance against Sakio Bika providing he stuck to a game plan
Would Smith want to fight Degale again and vice-versa?

Re: James Degale
Heard his team are working on a fight with Bika.
Only a rumour, mind.

that's still a pretty good fight, be a good win on Degale's record and set up a good fight afterwardsTerrrrry wrote:Heard his team are working on a fight with Bika.
