Talent burns away without it being used; Barnes was talented and skilled but too tempramental to be a serious champion + he should not have got the decision v Jimmy Vincent so isn't really a double British Champion (the scorecard should be on the rubbish scorecards thread) - David has won 3 of his last 4 with a technical decision in the other - the combined records of his opponents are 57-87-8.

Guys, the fight is made and it's a good one. Barnes needs to be pushed to perform, Frankie will push him and the fight will be class. David is looking very very good in the gym. I would strongly advise people to get tickets for this one, you could well witness something special. As someone who has a thing for redheads, you can take my word for it that spending an evening in a copper box is seldom a disappointment.

I agree, good post, its a decent match up and if Barnes brings his 'A' game it will be a decent competetive fight. Gavin is far far from invincible.

Agree this is a decent match up. I'd rather it was someone more widely accepted, but hey, you can't force the others to take it. Its a good fight, a lot of skill on show, I'm sure. Frankie should get the Lonsdale for keeps and then we can check everyone elses availability for the next date. Job done.
