John/McGuigan.
John/McGuigan.
Credit to Giacomino for having given me the inspiration for this one. Thoughts?
Re: John/McGuigan.
The McGuigan of the Pedroza bout would be too much for Chris John in my opinion.
Re: John/McGuigan.
I don't think that much of McGuigan. His HOF induction was absurd. Pedroza was past prime by that point and had been declining IMO since Caba. I'll take John on points.

It's a Hall of Fame. He was certainly famous so I guess he ticks the main box.
I'd like to have seen him fight The Professor at the time he starched the very capable Pat Cowdell.

Professor would've used and abused him.Giancarlo wrote:Rover wrote:I don't think that much of McGuigan. His HOF induction was absurd. Pedroza was past prime by that point and had been declining IMO since Caba. I'll take John on points.

As for the HOF, Butterbean's famous, too.

No reason why Eric shouldn't be in there too then.
Re: John/McGuigan.
That isn't the purpose of a HOF. Kornikova's famous in tennis. She isn't getting in the HOF--as she never won a tournament.
Re: John/McGuigan.
We'll have to agree to disagree.Rover wrote:That isn't the purpose of a HOF. Kornikova's famous in tennis. She isn't getting in the HOF--as she never won a tournament.
Re: John/McGuigan.
John UD. Agree with Rover on HOF bs
Re: John/McGuigan.
I don't know much about them.giacomino wrote:Agree with Rover on HOF bs
Who owns and runs the one as Canastota?
Re: John/McGuigan.
That's the IBHOF. Ed Brophy's the head of it I believe.Giancarlo wrote:I don't know much about them.giacomino wrote:Agree with Rover on HOF bs

Loved watching McGuigan fight, but he doesn't have credentials to b in anyone's HOF

Re: John/McGuigan.
Any idea how it is structured?
Is it just a limited company or what?

Re: John/McGuigan.
They let in a lot of folks. McGuigan certainly isn't the only guy I would question who they've let in. Popularity certainly counts
Re: John/McGuigan.
Like Gatti...baaaaaaaaarf!giacomino wrote:They let in a lot of folks. McGuigan certainly isn't the only guy I would question who they've let in. Popularity certainly counts
Re: John/McGuigan.
Agreed, but I'd put Gatti in over McGuigan
Re: John/McGuigan.
I'd put McGuigan in first; better wins and fewer bad losses. Agree neither belongs.giacomino wrote:Agreed, but I'd put Gatti in over McGuigan
Sorry for the PM reply; an accident.
