a fella who knows about the weird dq win in england for greg v massive nigerian funso banjo emailled me this info, if you wanted to add any of the info.

the reason i am offering it is becuase i have wondered for ages the details of this dq win, but have never been able to find any. other people like me looking at the record would be equally confused:

"As for the Greg Page fight in April 1986, that was Banjo's last ever fight.
The heading in the Boxing News report of the fight read: 'Banjo throws it
all Away', which sums it up. Page was not in the best of shape, but showed
the only class in a real maul of a fight. Banjo, when he realized he was
not going to knock his man out, resorted to an assortment of dirty tactics
which had the ex-champion complaining louldy and justifiably. Banjo nearly
bulled Greg through the ropes as early as the second, and used his bulk (he
was 5 pounds heavier than Greg at 17st 7lbs), to try and bull him through
the ropes on other occasions (after the two had clinched). He also pushed
Greg over, hit him below the belt, slapped, held frequently, hit on the
break and was careless with his head. They were not what you could call
really violent fouls, just petty ones - one after another. The referee had
continually warned Banjo, even going to his corner on a couple of occasions
inbetween rounds to read the riot act, but the fouls continued. Finally, in
the eighth round, referee Mike Jacobs stopped the 'action' and ordered Banjo
to his corner. He had been disqualified. It was a sad end to Funso's
career, which had promised so much but delivered nothing. He kind of faded
into obscurity, but it was believed went back to Nigeria, where he was born
and spent his early years."

ALSO, this stuff is from overhand right, i know for a fact that alot of people see gregs record and wonder about the details of the fights with mark wills.

i have ran into these people several times on message boards.

i can add that in the first fight, 1986, both page and wills were knocked down in the fight, and page was stopped on a cut, not knocked out.

also in pages fight with francesco damiani, he was deducted two points for losing his mouth piece. the result would hav ebeen a draw without these deductions.
